Today we’d like to introduce you to VAYZE.
Hi VAYZE, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
VAYZE was born and raised between Cleveland’s hip-hop renaissance and Miami’s golden age of dance music. He traveled down for summers since childhood and put roots down in 2012, learning the room before he ever played one.
Spent years on the dance floor watching the artists who would go on to become world-touring headliners. Teaching him what works, what doesn’t, and what the city’s after-hours rooms truly respond to.
Live, he’s become a recurring guest for HumansAlike at Lucky’s Sunday institution, one of Miami’s most curated underground residencies. Sharing bills with Danny Buckwell, Kastle, Cocodrills, and Amal Nemer across three appearances.
That foundation now drives a sound built on Miami’s Latin and tribal undercurrents, stripped back through the lens of minimal deep tech, hypnotic grooves, restrained percussion, and the late-night intent that defines labels like Solid Grooves, FUSE London, AMPM, and Slugs Music.
In November 2025, he released “Fiera” alongside Grammy-winning house pioneer Roger Sanchez, Leyva, and Kristen Knight on UndrtheRadr · followed by “Drippin” on HESOYAM Records in March 2026. A forthcoming release on Blah Blah Records lands July 2026.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There definitely has been struggle, most DJ’s know the struggle of supporting themselves while chasing their dreams. I own Detail MIA with a partner now but those early days were extremely tough. Having to balance two young businesses and making sure both stay afloat. Nowadays my main struggles surround venues that take two months to pay you… thats one thing that truly bothers me. Not just for me but for all of the growing DJ’s out there
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Deep House DJ, based in Miami. I have been around the scene since 2012 here, always involved. I had to make sacrifices at the start of my career and now for the last 3 years the focus has shifted back to music.
I specialize in deep house, minimal and tech house but I love to step out of the box as well. Nothing beats a tasteful, sexy opening set. I gear my sound to the girls because we all know that matters more, and I love it.
There was a moment recently that really spoke to me. An organization here in Miami, Humans Alike, I had been going to their parties for nearly 10 years… always asking myself how I would get a booking like that. One time there was a switch around on the lineup, at the time my mentor Tom Maulini brought my name up to fill in. And thats where it all came full circle. A party I had been on the dance floor of for the past 10 years ended up a party I was playing at.
Getting closer with the founder of Humans Alike Travis Rogers, I have the upmost gratitude and respect for the advice given by him always.
Fast forward to present day I am a recurring guest at 1-800 Lucky for Humans Alike as well as a forthcoming release under Blah Blah Records coming to you July 2026
How do you define success?
It’s whether people are dancing. That’s always been it. I grew up on the Miami dancefloors before I ever stepped behind a booth, and what stayed with me wasn’t who the artist was, it was how they made me feel. Making the room truly burst with life. That’s the only thing I’m trying to do now. If somebody walks out of my set feeling lighter than they walked in, the job got done. The rest is noise.
Making music I’m proud of and building true lasting relationships is what I value above that
