The Woof Republic began within Vanessa De Las Casas and Carolina Fiol individually from very young they shared an immense love for animals, pet care was simply a hobby to them. A few years later, they formally met with an opportunity to become a dog walker for a high rise condominium. This led to a vision for something greater and the idea for The Woof Republic was born. Our vision led us to expand the concept for pet amenities exclusive to condo associations. The Woof Republic got its name because we aren’t just a business but we are a republic. This falls under a brand, social events, advocates for pet adoption, a merch line and more. Since the beginning of The Woof Republic in 2015 we have acquired accounts in the South Florida area including Prive Island Estates, Echo Aventura, Echo Brickell, Muse Residences and Hyde Midtown just to name a few and counting. All these properties are customized to their liking and include amenities like pet services, grooming spas, and dog parks.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like all great things, they take time and we believe it’s never a smooth road when beginning something new. Our success has elevated since the beginning and we know there will still be challenges ahead that we are prepared for. The struggle for a while was trying to introduce our concept that we created for this specific market because it was something new. Our biggest challenge was figuring out how to introduce the concept without comparing it to the already existing pet businesses.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Woof Republic story. Tell us more about the business.
The Woof Republic is a pet service amenity catered to luxury condominiums where the service is funded through the association. Along with this, we offer ancillary services aside from the contract to the clients within the building. In other words, we are the pet service amenity designed for the condominium lifestyle. We specialize in creating our services as an amenity to enhance the living experience of exclusive pet services available in the comfort of their home. We also host events for community engagement, like our popular Woof Social to give back, educate and bring people together with their dogs for a fun time. The Woof Republic is known for being the exclusive pet service amenity. As a company, we are most proud of the way that we have stuck to our vision with the team members that we bring in to The Woof Republic because we always want to best represent the brand that we believe in it so much. We want to continue expanding The Woof Republic with the vision that we have for it. Another thing we are very proud of is the clientele we have acquired throughout the last three years.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We got lucky by knowing a developer that wanted dog walking in a specific property. By knowing him, this sparked the idea to create something bigger and begin The Woof Republic. Thanks to this specific developer we were able to get our foot in the door.
