Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyrese Nelson.
Tyrese, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in elementary by simply beating on the table and making rhymes. I started to record my freshman year of high school. Super Duper Kyle was the reason I started rapping but the influences of: NBA Youngboy, Rod Wave, Quando Rondo and Lil Uzi Vert really morphed me into the artist I am. I make music about how I feel and what’s going on in the world around me. I honestly believe my music is WAY better than anybody in my city and throughout Florida! It’s just hard to get everybody else to at least give it listen. But fuck it, I’m XO BANE, I’m that nigga and imma be that nigga regardless
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been so smooth. Mainly because of my insecurities lol maaaan I used to be so scared to put music out and letting people know it’s me. It was hard trying to find my sound and standing out as well, I couldn’t go a day without someone saying I sound like Lil Uzi. Now, every once and a while, someone would say I sound like A Boogie lol, so I guess I’m still finding it but at least people know what’s ME and not someone else like I’m stealing someone’s flow or sumn. I also used to never cuss in my music either so that was kinda hard trying not to use my true emotions in music.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I make music. Love everything about it. People know me from being heartbroken lmao. I’m usually making love songs or just songs to put u in your feelings lol. As an artist, I’m most proud of the fans I’ve gained over the years. The fact that people actually or waiting for me to drop a song is awesome. The versatility of in lyrics and flows is what makes me stand out. I can make any type of song, I’m inspired by all types of music.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I hope to be able to be heard by the world. To have fans from across the seas (which I do actually lol I have some fans that hit me up from France) and just to be able to a smile on people face when they hear one of my songs. I’m really just looking forward to being able to perform again. The adrenaline you get from the audience getting into your song is a sugar rush!!! I love that shit.
