Today we’d like to introduce you to Trapland Pat.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?I’m a rapper from Deerfield Beach, Florida, also known as C Land. I am a first-generation born Haitian-American. I grew up listening to other rappers in Florida. My older brother often freestyled and eventually, I began rapping at thirteen years old. I focused more on playing football during high school and received a football scholarship to Indiana State. I played as a wide receiver and cornerback until I ran into some trouble in 2018.
Now that I was out of college, I began taking my rap career seriously. I started releasing singles then, I released my mixtape “2020 Vision.” It features artists like SpotemGottem and 26 Scoop. “Emergency” and “Big Business” quickly gained traction on all platforms. Currently, Big Business has over two million views on Youtube. In November 2019, I signed to Fredo Bang’s label, Bang Biz Entertainment. They have helped me with a structured rollout plan for my current and future music. I released my mixtape, Thru Da Door on Apr 16, 2021, with features from Kuttem Reese, KidTrunks, Lit Yoshi, and more. My label and management really help me stay on schedule so that I can focus on my music.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Off the bat, losing my scholarship and no longer playing football was hard on my family and me. Football is something I really wanted to do but had to adjust to not being able to. My bad decisions strongly impacted my family, they take great pride in my accomplishments so my run-ins with the law wasn’t celebrated. Coming in and out of jail and trying to readjust to life was not an easy transition either. When I decided to start my music career, I had such an influx of inspiration to create music but I financially struggled in being able to support all the music I wanted to make because of numerous legal fees.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a versatile rapper specializing in hip hop/rap. I’m known for my chaotic but catchy bars and my big eyes. I am also known for my tracks, Big Business, New Jam Freestyle and Emergency. Being versatile is so important to me. I never want people to know how I am going to approach a beat or rap on a song. I never want to be predictable. I hope you’re on edge like, “Damn, this guy could just switch it up at any moment and give me a different feeling I’ve never gotten before!”.
