Meet Trailblazer Florencia Pendola

Today we’d like to introduce you to Florencia Pendola.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Florencia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Your Word Matters was created as a reminder that everything that you do or not do, everything that you say or not say, matters. Whether you choose to act or not, it matters. I believe that people, myself included, sometimes don’t really express themselves because they are afraid of rejection, being ridiculed or they are too worried about what people may think. People repress their emotions, talk themselves out of trying new things because of the fear of how people will perceive them, by doing this, they don’t really enjoy life and live to the fullest. So, I created Your Word Matters to share what I learned throughout the years. To give people the tools to transform their lives. Giving people the encouragement and motivation to live their best life and work towards their dreams.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. To begin with, YWM (Yourwordmatters) does not carry my name. In the beginning, I was hiding this side of me. I thought it was too raw and most of my friends and family didn’t know about it. I kept it in the dark because I wasn’t ready to show to everybody. What I share, is what I believe in. Everything that I post is based on what inspires me, I share what I think people might want to see in moments of weakness. Your Word Matters is who I am. In addition, in the beginning, I was afraid of what people would think if they knew this was me, I was afraid of other people’s opinions, and till this day, I’m still not comfortable to show my face on videos or show up in my stories. I am working on it, and that is my goal now.

One of the most challenging parts is encouraging people to be vulnerable when I sometimes struggle with it myself. To live a fulfilling life, you need to take risks, be willing to try new things and challenge yourself; put yourself in uncomfortable situations. Sometimes, that is the most challenging part.

Also, working with positivity, motivation, and happiness it doesn’t mean that we are not going to have bad days. Sometimes I have a bad day, but that doesn’t mean that I have a bad life. I am well aware that not every day is going to be a good one, but as long as I know that is a bad day, or that my mood is not allowing me to see things clearly, I know I can give myself the time to regain my power back and see how rich life is when you see everything that you have rather than seeing what you are lacking.
Another challenge that I currently face is partnering with brands. I am looking to partner with brands that fit my own. The way my page is set up prevents me from growing my partnerships. I want to work with brands that I like and respect without damaging my following. I think of what the people that reach my page want to see, without becoming about the promotion of products that do not relate to my content will be a good one.

We’d love to hear more about Your Word Matters.
Time marketer with a motivational business on the side. One of the things I am most proud of is what is has become. Often times, I get a message that reminds me that I’m on the right track. The moments when I read messages that tell me how my post help them that day, or how what I wrote motivated someone and make them work towards their goals, that is when I acknowledge all that YWM has become. One of the perceptions that I had is that people post things that they don’t believe in based on popularity or the number of likes, but I made a promise to myself since day one, that I was going to post what I thought it was true. I swore to myself that I will keep my integrity by sharing what I believe in and follow on a daily basis.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to see challenges as opportunities, my ability to empathize with people. I’ve learned throughout the years how to become stronger by what you go through life and that is who I am today, somebody that is not discourage by challenges but rather motivated to grow into the person that knows how to deal with them and then can share the tools and learnings with the people that need them the most.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
To just start, just do it!

It took me so many years to finally start because I was afraid. I thought nobody will care, nobody is going to find this helpful, but with hard work, commitment and consistency, the work gets to the people that need it the most.

Even if you don’t know where you are going, you just have to start. Start now. Stop believing your excuses and just take action towards your dreams. If you dont take action, nobody else will do it for you, and if you want to make a difference in the world, you need to work hard and share what you know.
