Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Pizarro.
Alicia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Photography has been my passion my entire life. I was born to take pictures and I tried to manifest that passion in every single of my photographs.
As Annie Leibovitz once said: “The camera makes you forget you’re there. It’s not like you are hiding but you forget, you are just looking so much.”
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a non-easy journey, but I believe that nothing really worth having, is easy to get. The hard-fought battles, the goals won with sacrifice, are the one that matters.
Struggle brings progress whether you succeed or fail. You either advance or learn from it. If you learn from it, remember that mistakes are proof that you are trying. You’re working on growth. Life is not stagnant and does not wait, so doing something now, even if it seems you’re in the face of an unbeatable adversary, is still better than nothing. If it’s worth it, it’s not easy.
We’d love to hear more about Alicia Pizarro Photography.
I consider myself an artist that uses a camera to express its art.
I have a deep passion for portraits. I am not afraid of falling in love with each of my muses while I am behind the camera. I believe every person has a story to tell and I want to reflect that story in each of my pieces. That is my signature for the world the power in the effort that goes into creating a line of work—how the pictures are brothers and sisters to one another.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Read a lot- nourish yourself of knowledge, be persistent in what you believe and never allow anyone to tell you what you can and you cant do with your art.
