Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Monique.
Hi Tiffany , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Tiffany Monique, originally from High Point, North Carolina, and dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My professional career began as a dancer for the Miami Heat in Miami, Florida, which became the foundation that launched my career in the entertainment industry. While in Miami, I toured and worked with artists including 2 Live Crew, DJ Khaled, and WOLFTYLA as both a dancer and choreographer. During that time, I also created my dance fitness class, “Booty Work,” and began building youth-focused dance programs centered around confidence, creativity, and community.
When COVID shifted life for many of us, I returned to North Carolina to be closer to family and relaunched my vision in Charlotte through Tiffany Creative Collectives — a creative hub designed to provide artistic experiences, programs, and opportunities for all ages. What started with bringing “BootyWork” to NC Dance District quickly evolved into a growing platform that now includes Little Groovers Lab, a movement program for toddlers; All-Star Energy Camp , movement camp for school age , My Tease Heels, a beginner-friendly confidence and heels training class for women; The Pro Lab professional dance training classes; and my performance team, The Headliners, who perform throughout the community and for both local and nationally recognized artists.
At the heart of Tiffany Creative Collectives is empowerment. Although my background is rooted in professional dance, I’ve always wanted my company to be about more than titles or industry status. My mission is to create a welcoming space where women, children, and creatives feel inspired, confident, and supported while discovering their own artistry and purpose.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. My journey has been filled with highs, lows, setbacks, and rebuilding moments that truly tested me. When I first moved to Miami to pursue my dreams, I spent my first six months sleeping couch to couch as a dancer for the Miami Heat, however being Miami Heat dancer was a major breakthrough for me, and from there I began creating opportunities for myself through my dance fitness class, “Booty Work,” and youth dance programs. Everything finally felt like it was falling into place.
Then COVID hit, and like many people in the entertainment industry, my entire world shifted overnight. I relocated back to North Carolina and had to pivot quickly by teaching online classes and rebuilding my business in a completely different environment. As I started regaining momentum and working out of NC Dance District, another major setback happened — the studio space behind my parents’ home in High Point, where I filmed and taught many of my online classes, burned completely down. I lost everything: costumes, jackets, trophies, memorabilia, and years of memories tied to my journey.
At that moment, I truly felt like I was starting from scratch. But through every challenge, I’ve learned resilience. There were definitely moments where staying positive felt difficult, but I’ve grown to understand that entrepreneurship, artistry, and purpose all come with unexpected twists and turns. Today, I look at my journey like a roller coaster ride — full of ups and downs — and I’ve learned to embrace every part of it. Each setback helped shape the woman, leader, and creative I am becoming, and it’s made me even more passionate about creating opportunities and empowering others through my work.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What sets me apart is that I’ve always viewed dance, creativity, and even professionalism differently. In an industry where so many people focus on résumés, titles, or making sure every step is perfect, I’ve always cared more about how I make people feel. To me, being a creative is deeper than movement — it’s about connection, energy, confidence, and creating an experience that leaves a lasting impact on someone.
I’ve never been the type to judge people or put them into boxes. No matter who someone is or where they come from, I’ve always been intentional about making sure people feel seen, valued, and inspired whenever they encounter me. That’s something I truly take pride in because I know how powerful it is to leave a positive feeling with people.
I always say I don’t just teach classes — I create experiences. Whether it’s a rehearsal, a dance class, a workshop, or even a one-on-one conversation, I want people to leave feeling different in the best way possible. I want them to feel more confident, more free, more empowered, and more connected to themselves than they did before they walked in the room.
I believe my gift goes beyond teaching movement. Yes, I can train dancers, choreograph, and build programs, but what really matters to me is helping people step into who they truly are. From toddlers in Little Groovers Lab to women in My Tease Heels to dancers training professionally in The Pro Lab, everything I create is rooted in confidence, authenticity, and empowerment.
At the end of the day, I truly believe everyone deserves to feel wanted, loved, and confident in who they are. My mission through Tiffany Creative Collectives is to continue creating spaces where people can freely express themselves, grow creatively, and feel empowered to move through life unapologetically as themselves.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories was when I was 10 years old and my dance teacher secretly placed me in an advanced class at a workshop. I was way younger than everyone else in the room — surrounded by high school and college dancers — but somehow, I held my own.
During the class, the legendary choreographer Frank Hatchett noticed me and called me out in front of everyone to perform the combination by myself. I was terrified. Imagine being 10 years old, dancing alone in front of all these advanced older dancers. But I did it anyway.
After I finished dancing, he looked at me and said, “I’m giving you a scholarship.” That moment changed my life. He awarded me a lifetime scholarship to Broadway Dance Center in New York, which meant I could train there for as long as he was alive. It was one of the first moments that made me realize my gift was real and that dance could truly take me places.
Going to New York at such a young age felt like living a dream. And while I was there, I even got the opportunity to model for Capezio. At 10 years old, I was dancing, training, modeling, and experiencing opportunities most kids only imagined.
Looking back, that memory means so much to me because it was the moment I felt seen. It gave me confidence, purpose, and confirmation that I belonged in the room — no matter how young I was.
