Today we’d like to introduce you to Tenaj.
Hi Tenaj, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Music has always been my way of expressing freedom. I started out singing and writing songs, and over time that passion naturally evolved into producing and DJing. I was always drawn to melodic techno and progressive house — the emotion, the energy, and the ability to connect people through sound.
My journey really took off when I began performing across Europe and later toured through India, where the culture, colors, and atmosphere deeply inspired me — especially in Parvati Valley, which led to the creation of one of my favorite tracks. From there, my sound continued to evolve as I performed in Dubai, where my releases reached the Top 3 on iTunes, and later in Tunisia at the Kambol Festival at La Pacha Hammamet — an unforgettable night filled with energy and unity.
Recently, I had the opportunity to play during Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE 2025) at SONIKA, surrounded by so many amazing artists and fans who share the same love for melodic music. Now, I’m heading to M2 Miami and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s next.
Along the way, my music has gained incredible support from artists I deeply admire, including Korolova, Agent of Time, Argy, David Guetta, KSHMR, Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Nicky Romero. Every bit of support motivates me to keep pushing boundaries and growing both as an artist and as a person.
Through my label, Proxima Records, I’m building a space that celebrates creativity and helps other artists share their vision. For me, this is just the beginning — my goal is to keep creating music that inspires freedom, emotion, and connection across the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. The music industry can be unpredictable — full of ups and downs, long nights in the studio, and moments where you question everything. When I first started, I had to learn how to do almost everything on my own — from production and marketing to managing releases and running my own label, Proxima Records. It took a lot of discipline and patience to build everything from the ground up.
As an independent artist, one of the biggest challenges has been balancing creativity with the business side — especially handling finances, promotion, and keeping a consistent release schedule while still staying true to my sound. There were also moments of doubt, times when opportunities fell through or when I felt unseen.
But every obstacle taught me something valuable — how to stay focused, trust my vision, and keep evolving no matter what. The journey made me stronger and more authentic, and it reminds me why I started in the first place: to connect through music and to never give up on what I love.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an artist, producer, and DJ known for blending Melodic Techno, Progressive House, and Dance into a sound that’s emotional, cinematic, and powerful. My goal has always been to create music that makes people feel free — to connect energy, emotion, and movement into one experience.
I’m the founder ofProxima Records, a label dedicated to supporting emerging talent and pushing creative boundaries in electronic music. I also host the Proxima Podcast, where I share exclusive mixes and showcase fresh melodic sounds from around the world.
My music has received incredible support from artists I deeply admire — including Korolova, Argy, Agent of Time, David Guetta, KSHMR, Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Romero, and Leandro Da Silva — which has been a huge honor.
I’ve been fortunate to perform around the world, from my India tour to Tunisia’s Kambol Festival, ADE in Amsterdam, and soon M2 Miami. One of my proudest moments was reaching the Top 3 on iTunes in Dubaiand #12 on Beatport, knowing that people across different cultures are connecting with my music.
What sets me apart is my dual focus — I’m not just a DJ or producer; I’m also a storyteller who brings visuals, emotion, and depth into every performance. My music isn’t just about the drop — it’s about the journey it takes you on.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I believe the next 5–10 years will be a revolutionary time for the electronic music industry. Technology and creativity are blending more than ever — we’re seeing visual art, AI, and immersive experiences become a big part of how people connect with music. It’s no longer just about playing tracks; it’s about creating an entire world and emotional journey around the sound.
I see Melodic Techno and Progressive House continuing to grow globally, reaching new audiences through deeper storytelling and cinematic elements. Artists are becoming more self-reliant — building their own labels, visuals, and brands — which gives them real creative freedom. That’s one reason I started Proxima Records: to give artists a space to express themselves authentically without limitations.
We’ll also see more diversity in the scene — more women headlining festivals, more cross-genre collaborations, and a stronger global community connected through emotion and technology. The industry is becoming more human again, even in a digital age — and I think that’s the most exciting shift of all.
