Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Mosquera.
Tatiana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I pretty much grew up with a paint brush in my hand. My first art class was at the age of six, and I’ve been drawing ever since. I’ve also been into street fashion since a young age. I started my own personalized shoe business about a month ago! I’ve always wanted to do something of my own that involved my passion for art and my shoe obsession. My goal is to give individuals a unique opportunity to express themselves through art and fashion. I believe that all individuals are unique, we simply have to add a touch of ourselves to what we wear in order to make a statement. I am very excited for what the future holds and I can’t wait to see my clients showing off their own style with every step they take!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Its been tough in the sense that customizing shoes by hand is somewhat new in the mind of individuals. Not everyone is fully aware that the paint and utensils I use are waterproof and will last if taken care of correctly. Other than that, it’s been awesome to bring something new into the market and be able to bring ideas and sketches to life!
Please tell us about Pisos by Tatz.
My company is called Pisos by Tatz and focuses on customizing shoes that are mailed to me by individuals. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I aim to not only design something cool but to customize the show in a way where it represents the individual. I work with my clients to bring their ideas to life. If there are no ideas in mind, I simply ask them questions and try to piece something together that goes with their essence. I am known for the idea of being unique and pushing individuals to believe in theirselves and be more confident. I want to build individuality and uniqueness through my products.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Definitely, the time when I went to the snow for the first time! I was seven at the time when we traveled to Colorado. We went with my parents and brother. I couldn’t believe I was in such a magical place. The entire trip I felt as If I was living a Christmas Disney movie.
