Meet Tara Hepburn of Green Heart Tara

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Hepburn.

Tara, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Since I was a young woman, people have naturally come to me seeking remedies, guidance, and a sense of being cared for. I have always felt a deep connection to the wisdom of the natural world and to the healing that can take place when we listen—to our bodies, our hearts, and our spirits. Along my own journey, I experienced trauma and faced moments that challenged me deeply and changed the way I understood healing. Through my own process of finding my way back to myself, I began to recognize that healing is not simply about treating what hurts, but about reconnecting with the whole of who we are. These experiences, along with the many people who have trusted me with their stories and their healing, gradually led me toward Shamanic Medicine. What began as an innate desire to help and offer remedies has unfolded into a deeper calling—one shaped by my own wounds, my own healing, and the wisdom I have gathered along the way. All of it has brought me to where I am today and continues to guide me on this path of service, healing, and connection.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to becoming a medicine woman is not an easy one. It takes courage, patience, discipline, and a deep commitment to healing—not only yourself, but those around you. There are moments when you may have to work twice as hard to be taken seriously, especially when your path is rooted in traditions, wisdom, and forms of healing that others may not fully understand. But every challenge becomes part of the journey, strengthening your voice and deepening your purpose. Being a medicine woman is about more than carrying knowledge; it is about honoring the beauty of healing, sharing that wisdom with others, and reminding people that healing can be powerful,

We’ve been impressed with Green Heart Tara , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I work as a holistic practitioner, integrating earth-based medicines, traditional healing practices, and bodywork to support people on their personal healing and transformational journeys. My work incorporates Kambo, psilocybin, San Pedro, tobacco, hapé, sound, and energy work, alongside my training and experience as a herbalist and massage therapist. I approach each person as a whole being—body, mind, spirit, and energy—creating intentional spaces for grounding, release, connection, and deeper self-awareness. My practice is rooted in respect for the plants, the medicines, the traditions they come from, and the individual path of each person I work with.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that might surprise people who know me or my work is that I spent a part of my life in the corporate world, in an environment that taught me to rely heavily on logic, productivity, achievement, and external validation. For a long time, I became so disconnected from myself that I didn’t even realize how much I had stopped listening to my own intuition. I was good at doing what was expected of me, but I had lost touch with asking myself what I actually wanted, what felt aligned, and who I was beyond my role or accomplishments. Leaving that version of myself behind wasn’t an overnight transformation—it was a gradual process of learning to slow down, listen inward, trust my instincts, and reconnect with the parts of me that had been quietly asking to be heard. In many ways, the work I do now was born from that journey back to myself.
