I’m Subhajit Chatterjee, and my journey started in the world of technology. I began as a coding instructor, where I trained students and professionals, and later moved into software development. This early phase gave me a strong understanding of problem-solving, systems, and building scalable solutions.
My entrepreneurial journey began when I entered the healthcare marketing space. Initially, we were only a small team of 3–4 members, working closely with doctors, clinics, and healthcare brands. During this journey, I understood the gap between good medical solutions and the way they were communicated to patients.
That’s when I met my co-founder, Vineet Anand, who brought strong experience from the pharmaceutical and skincare industry. Together, we started Becura with a vision to create medical-grade skincare solutions that focus not just on external beauty, but also on internal skin wellness.
Today, it has been 3 years since we started Becura, and our products are prescribed by 1000+ doctors. What began as a small team with a strong vision has now grown into a trusted medical skincare brand focused on innovation, efficacy, and long-term skin wellness.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has definitely not been a completely smooth road. Like every growing brand, we had our own set of challenges.
One of the biggest struggles was working capital, especially because offline skincare is a very different business. It requires investment in inventory, distribution, sales teams, doctor visits, sampling, marketing material, and continuous follow-ups before results start coming in.
Another major challenge was building trust among doctors. Both co-founders, Subhajit Chatterjee and Vineet Anand, did not come from a traditional skincare manufacturing background. But what we strongly believed in was good product development, strong marketing understanding, and solving real skin concerns with science-backed formulations.
Initially, it was not easy to convince doctors to trust a new brand. Since Becura is a medical-grade skincare company, doctors would only prescribe our products if they saw real value, quality, and patient results.
But over time, our products became our strongest proof. As doctors started seeing good outcomes and patients started loving the results, the trust began to grow naturally. Slowly, more doctors started prescribing Becura, and our doctor network kept increasing.
So, while the journey had challenges, especially around working capital and credibility, we were able to crack the market through strong products, consistent doctor engagement, and effective marketing execution.
