Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Lichtenstein.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in Miami. My parents came to Miami from Nicaragua. I grew up speaking Spanish at home, so my life subtitles would definitely be in Spanglish. Entrepreneurship is in my blood. I grew up watching my parents run their promotional products business for over 35 years, which instilled a strong work ethic in me.
In 2009, I founded my social media agency while graciously working out of Gary Vaynerchuk’s first offices in Tribeca. That opportunity shaped how I approach building brands with intention. That same year, I met my husband in New York, funny enough, we grew up just ten minutes from each other in Miami. After a few years in NYC and Chicago, we realized we weren’t made for the cold and headed back to the sunshine and the croquetas. Our family is here, so Miami has always been home. It has been incredible to see how much the art, food, and tech scenes have grown here.
Since we both work remotely, my husband and I bonded over our love of travel. Our first trip together was to see the glaciers in Argentina, and we just returned from our first trip to Japan, where I gained a mochi obsession. We own an Airbnb in Downtown Miami, which makes traveling easier.
When I’m not running my business, I’m challenging myself to learn French, a work in progress over the last couple of years. At work, I feel blessed to do what I love. I collaborate with an amazing team of women and moms, many of whom I am lucky to call friends; together, we focus on uplifting women and helping brands grow.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a business owner, your team and clients depend on you daily. One of my biggest hurdles has been learning to let go of micromanaging and perfectionism. I trust my team to do their jobs and make myself available when they need support. It’s a constant process of knowing when to step in and when to delegate so the business can continue to grow.
In our industry, the biggest shift right now is AI. We are focused on ways to integrate its helpful features without losing the humanity and quality of our work. We actually just wrote an article for a client on the concept of “Human Intelligence” in their industry to showcase what makes their business uniquely different.
Our team just set our goals for the year, and we all agreed that the most important thing we can do is continue learning new tools and collaborate weekly on ideas and problem-solving. This is something we lean on each other for, and I am proud of how much our team has grown. Moving from part-time support to having more full-time team members has been a game-changer for our growth this past year.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Micro Media Marketing?
Right after college, I got bitten by the social media bug and decided to launch Micro Media Marketing in 2009. I bootstrapped my agency out of the first VaynerMedia offices in Tribeca. Working in that fast-paced environment on brands like the NHL during the early days of social media was invigorating. I’m thankful for his generosity, and I’ve never looked back, focusing on growing eCommerce brands, primarily in the Home Decor space.
We are truly hands-on and become an extension of your in-house team. What sets us apart is our team of stay-at-home super moms who understand our target audience deeply. We blend high-level strategy with the kind of engagement and targeted advertising that moves the needle. Our expertise has led us to work with a range of impressive brands, from HarperCollins to Hubbell, helping them scale their digital presence.
We specialize in social media, from daily management and data-driven advertising to building genuine influencer relationships. We don’t just focus on transactions; we focus on growth and authenticity. We’re proud to provide a personal approach that turns clients into long-term partners. As one of our partners of 10+ years put it, we aren’t just a service provider, we’re an extended part of the family.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
During one move unpacking, I found a note my first-grade teacher sent home to my mom. She wrote, “Stephanie is a wonderful student but her talking in class is becoming a bit disruptive.” It turns out that same love for communicating is what eventually led me to a career in social media and public speaking.
