Meet Tarah Meyers of Songs For Seeds Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tarah Meyers.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When my husband, Jordan, and I moved from New York City to Parkland a year and a half ago, we couldn’t bear to leave the songs for seeds music class our 2 sons, Dylan (now 4) and Tyler (now 2.5), loved so much so we decided to bring the class here with us!

It was definitely a risk to buy a franchise and open in a market we really knew nothing about just because our children enjoyed and benefited from this particular music class, but the response has been pretty fantastic!

Within our first year, we were a “Boca Healthy Kids winner” by VIPediatrics and also were voted Best of Boca by Boca Mag – top 3 Mommy and Me classes!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has, for the most part. Once we actually moved here and really started to have conversations with local families and schools, we kept hearing how excited everyone was for an “NYC type class” to finally come to South Florida…. And just something else for children and families to be able to do during the week. And for some new birthday party entertainment options!

Please tell us about Songs For Seeds Boca Raton.
Songs For Seeds, named “Best Kids’ Music Class” by New York Magazine and “Most Magical Music Class” by Red Tricycle, is a-rockin’ program that is brought to you by apple seeds.

This weekly, 45 minutes, interactive class encourages children, newborn to 6 years old, to sing, dance and play along with a live, three-piece band. Kids rock out with children’s instruments, as well as real drums, guitars, keyboards, and instruments from around the world. Our teacher/musicians take students on a musical journey each week through a series of seven engaging activities.

Your kids will experience music and language from cultures around the globe, help create magnetic art murals during a sing-along of well-known nursery rhymes, be amazed and delighted by magic tricks that are used to practice numbers and counting and get fully engaged in a wheel spinning game that reinforces the names and sounds of animals.

By mixing our original kid’s rock ‘n’ roll with popular tunes, the band is sure to please little ones and their adults. It is the most fun you can have in 45 minutes with your kids.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing! We’ve been very fortunate to have found an amazing band and such nice families to enjoy our classes!
