Meet Nizar Dalbani of SolArmy in Miami Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nizar Dalbani.

Nizar, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my career as an entrepreneur at a young age learning from my father, who was instilling life values into us and driving a business mindset into my siblings and I in order for us to be ahead of the curve in our sectors. I grew to have a business mindset in everything I got involved in. I analyzed, planned, and executed everything with precision and effectiveness through goal setting and keeping myself accountable. By the time I was 13 years old, I had built my first business that was exponentially growing every month by 7 or 10 times. At its peak, I was making about 2k a month. Nothing crazy but for a 13-year old that was a lot. What did I do you may be asking? I sold candy. Eventually, I grew out of that and started integrating more into my father’s business, which specialized in the manufacturing and distribution of electronic products, components, and systems.

I started from the ground up as I wanted to understand every aspect of the business and six years later, I made my way to VP of the company. I had started other businesses along the way and added different departments to our already existing structure. Ultimately about five years ago, I launched the company that is today SolArmy. We specialize in the integration and service of energy efficiency & renewable energy products in the US. Our business is continually growing every month and I have never been more proud of being part of a company than I am of this one. It’s not because I started it or that it’s in my name, but because of how it makes me feel whenever I help a client make the switch. To be able to promote a product that will help people save money and build equity compared to just spending money on needless things gives me a sense of accomplishment that none of my other businesses ever gave me. The way this company is structured to give back to the community and the relief programs we have put in play are helping people every day.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been an easy road as we have had times when the company was not making any money due to negative economic situations as well as a negative outlook onto our sector because of shady contractors in the past not doing good work and overcharging clients. We have many issues that we combat every day from our clients’ opinions. However, our energy consultants have been trained extensively and explain things clearly so that everyone is on the same page. The business we are in also requires large cash reserves as we normally have to pay out our employees and contractors before we see any cash in, however, we prefer to keep everyone happy and take our cut last.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the SolArmy story. Tell us more about the business.
The company name is SolArmy LLC and our Residential division is branded as SolarMyHome. We focus on helping homeowners reduce their consumption by upgrading the equipment in their home and then switching to Solar PV technology so that they can stop paying the electric company and invest in themselves instead. Homeowners purchase their homes for the reason that they would like to build equity and own something at the end instead of just paying rent for the rest of their life. The same concept applies to this as we focus on them paying off the investment they make in the system compared to just paying FPL every month. The Solar financing payment will be less than the electric bill payment every month as well. Eventually, they won’t have to make payments anymore and their electricity is free. There are two things that set us apart as a company:

1.) We position ourselves as consultants and not contractors. We pinpoint exactly what the client needs based on their electric usage and what upgrades they should make to see the most savings. We also help in hurricane preparedness by offering battery backup systems so you can have power when the grid is down.

2.) We have an invaluable contractor network and leverage whenever a client needs anything from roofing, HVAC, lighting, pool, solar, impact windows & doors. We provide a one-stop solution for it all and leverage our buying power to get the clients the best prices.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I feel like what we’ve gone through as a company has shaped us to become who we are today and is continually positioning us to be leaders in the industry, so I would not change anything or do anything differently in that respect. I would, however, do things more efficiently and partner with different companies earlier on to get a better grasp on things.
