Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Lanot.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Simone. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Honestly, from the day I was born God knew I was going to be a CREATOR! And I’ve been creative/creating ever since. I know my gift that was given to me and that was to show my ART! Whether that was in drawings, hair, clothing, etc… From elementary, I was talented in art! from middle school I was talented in art, distressing jeans or even practicing hair! from high school, it was doing hair, some graphic designs and trying to make small custom pieces for myself! Until 2017 that’s where I created POCAH ROUGE LLC, My graphic designing page. I did a design for myself and published it and in no time I began to get customers left to right wanting designs made!!! In the midst of doing designs, I would also get some more practice in by doing hair here and there while working a 9-5 and also managing a business! It was a lot but I could handle it!!
Fast forward to 2019 I became pregnant!! Not only am I an Entrepreneur but I’m a Mompreneur lol! I remember during my pregnancy I was on GO! Doing a lot to keep myself busy, I was taking a lot of orders on logos, I was taking hair clients by doing ponytails, I joined IM Academy by trading currencies in the foreign exchange market, still working a stable job and that’s when I decided to take on doing custom jeans! This is where it gets good! I remember being nine months pregnant and I made a custom pair of jeans for KC (City Girls Star Yung Miami Little Sister).
A week later she wore the custom jeans and everyone went crazy!!!! I also had Saucy Santana And Molly Brazy and other huge social media influencers rock my jeans! My jean business started to BOOM! My boyfriend would even help me do jeans lol I was taking orders while I was pregnant and after I had my beautiful baby boy! I wanted to start my own designer brand, something named after my son so I came up with Amirlanoton (AMRLTN) merging my son’s middle name, my last name and his last name together. This isn’t the last of Amirlanoton, this is just the beginning and there is more to come !! Stay Tuned 😉
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to success isn’t smooth! Being an entrepreneur is hard, let alone being a new mommy while juggling a lot of things at once is hard! But you must NEVER give up! There were many struggles along the way of building my brand. Days where I wasn’t getting orders, wasn’t enough of money coming in, staying up long nights, not getting enough of rest, getting bruised by needles and scissors by making custom orders, things not sticking to schedule and going as planned. I tell ya, you gone have those days where you gone be like I need a break from all this but In the end, all of this is HIGHLY rewarding.
Please tell us about Pocah Rouge and AMRLTN. What should we know?
POCAH ROUGE LLC – an online graphic designer, I make logos, flyers, business card designs, etc.
AMIRLANOTON (AMRLTN) – A designer brand, I make custom clothing pieces like jeans. Soon to have other custom pieces coming to the collection.
The most I’m proud of as a company is the support that I’ve been receiving since day one! Everyone’s been supportive with my brand, whether it’s purchasing a custom piece from me, simply sharing a post online about my brand or referring a customer to me!
What sets me apart from others is that I’m not doing this because it’s a quick fast money hustle, NO! I see this as long term, I’m building this brand from the ground up, I WILL be a designer brand that many people all around the world will shop with!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was pretty creative! I’ve always had a unique mind. I use to be shy but I feel like not anymore, I’ve grown out of my shell! Myself and personality can light up a room! Fashion and Art have alwayssss been an interest of mine!
