Today we’d like to introduce you to Saturnie Antoine.
Saturnie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
“Which one will it be?” This question struck me! I spent a whole week thinking, praying, and trying to decide. Funny enough, the answer was so simple. Have you ever done something so naturally that you never think twice when you’re doing it? That was me when it came to being that listening ear and voice of reason for women — even at a young age. I’ll never forget a woman in her 40s who randomly opened up to me about her toxic relationship with her husband (I was only 18 at the time). Or the young women my age who would confide in me and seek advice about relationships and other life struggles. Without realizing, over the years, I’ve coached, inspired, mentored, and motivated the women in my life and those I’ve “randomly” encountered, all without ever putting a label on it, because to the core, that’s simply who I am. I’ve always been an empath; I’ve always had a heart to serve, a genuine desire to help.
Blinded to my purpose at the time, though right in front of me, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in the Biological Sciences at Florida Atlantic University and later applied to medical school. I had all the pieces aligned and a great support system. So, imagine my surprise when my soul started to stir right in the middle of the application process. Imagine my fear when I felt God redirecting me to my new purpose. I shared this with my mentor at the time who was also a dean of a medical school. He advised that I think about it for a week. Would I choose medicine? Something I’d consistently planned and worked for over the years, or would I follow my gut leading towards the unknown?
A day before returning to see my mentor, I read a devotional on the topic “purpose vs career.” How ironic? I was moved to tears. I knew in my soul than that my desire to work with women, despite the terrifying unknown, was the right choice. Fast forward to today… WOW! I’m blown away and so glad that I took that leap of faith. To have attracted a tribe of over 8,000+ women (and growing), to have gone through and completed the rigorous Professional Coaching Certification Program at the University of Miami, to have the privilege to create and motivate change in the lives of women (all by capturing the blueprint of success from my own personal and emotional struggles)… Everyday I’m blown away. I look forward to the years ahead, and I look forward to the continuous impact left to be made on the Flowing Love Tribe/community.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth ride. Before I could understand the struggles of the women I serve, I first had to go through my personal battles; I had to face my demons, had to face my flaws, and had to face my strengths and weaknesses all at once. I had to be intentional and do the deep inner work necessary to become the wholesome woman that I am, and that my tribe/community would presently need. This makes it easy for me to understand and naturally connect with those I serve. Besides my personal growth journey, which brought forth lots of experiences and wisdom, besides the associated past pains and victories, there is also the business aspect.
Going through a rigorous and highly demanding coaching program (to obtain the professional skills to properly serve my clients) was not easy. Building a community from scratch is not easy. Building a business from scratch is also not easy. There were numerous long workdays and study nights. There are countless late nights and early mornings, a lot of research, a lot of creating, and a huge learning curve. Setting up goals is one thing, but doing the actual work to get there is another (beautifully enough, this is something I get teach my clients today). Splitting time between my full-time job and my business has its challenges, but my resilience keeps me going, my tribe keeps me going, seeing the beautiful changes taking place in the lives of those I serve keeps me going.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Flowing Love is all about experiencing life and love in a free-flowing way… nothing forced (It hurts and takes too much energy to force anything). I work with women who feel stuck in their love life, stuck in the pain they are feeling, stuck in attracting the wrong love, or simply stuck in their feelings of unworthiness. I work closely with women of faith, but generally with women who are committed and ready to experience a shift from feeling stuck to flowing in life and in love. I do this through different means, either through specialized and highly tailored one-on-one professional coaching (paying attention to their specific story and goal), through group webinar teachings and mentorship, through masterclasses, eBooks, guides/journals, or simply through daily motivation on my platforms. It really depends on what my clients need (to me, it’s all about their needs).
What sets me apart from other relationship coaches and speakers deeply connects with my business name “Flowing Love”. Growing up, being led to believe that love has rigidity, “rules” and a “game” plan to follow, it was hard for me to fully connect with someone. It wasn’t until I learned how to truly connect to Love that I was able to flow in love and find love. My experiences and victories give me the perfect blueprint to help women reach the same. And so, what I’m most proud of is seeing the women I work with live the life they once desired, loving themselves first and later connecting with someone special.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was known as the “quiet,” detailed, and observant girl. Yet, my passion pierced through, and nothing could stop my laughter nor the deep joy I felt, found in the unconventional things in life… the things that appeared small, but in retrospect were most valuable. I always had a creative mind… being out in nature stirred up my creativity the most (even now). I found pleasure recording videos, editing, exploring new tools, creating mini-movies, and curating content — capturing each precious life moment. The creative process has made me inquisitive, resourceful, and a problem solver.
My siblings always called me their “little historian”, and now “the curator” in my relationship. It’s interesting how who we are and what we are passionate about will follow us. I’ll go as far as to say that these things are not random, it all matters and will often tie into who we are and what we were destined for. My balanced personality makes it very easy for me to understand people; their body language, their unspoken words, their nuances, the cause of their discomfort, etc. Interestingly enough, these personality traits play a major role into my role as a certified professional coach now, as well as my love for creative work also tying into my business today.
This is why I say it’s very important to embrace who you are. Do so despite others who may try to dim your light and make you feel bad for being “too quiet”, “too outspoken”, “too passionate” or too (fill in your blank). Don’t let others rob you of your authenticity, because the world needs you… every single one of you!
