The proud-gogetter owner of Safiya Shoetique has always had a strong flare for fashion, growing up in a fashion filled family with women like her mother and aunt, a former Ms. Jamaica, Safiya almost seemed ordained to be the fashion guru she has erupted into among her peers and friends. Her unique style and selection for fashion trends started off has a hobby but quickly blossomed into a full time job.
So Oct 2010, Safiya Shoetique was born and Safiya has continued to grow fearlessly in the fashion world, whether its running her shoetique, organizing a fashion elite event or photo shoots, Safiya is definitely a fashion force to be reckoned with. Safiya has formed many non profit organizations like wake pray slay women empowerment uplifting women through faith and prayer, she has had many back to school drives, feed the homeless community drive yearly and recently added a cosmetic line to her clothing boutique recently became an author of two books and builds upon her success daily.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing smooth at all, struggles were getting your own family, friends and banks to support your goals and dreams. Struggles like finding the right tools, target audience to support your business. A lot of obstacles and challenges with like wise businesses stealing your ideas and branding name etc. challenges came but it would not be growth and elevation without obstacles.
We’d love to hear more about Safiyashoetique.
I am a professional wardrobe stylist – author-philanthropist – fashion show producer and creator, brand ambassador for my brand, mother, wife, boss, mentor, I am known for my fashion style and women empowerment. As a company I am most proud of my persistence and its growth, wherever I go people know the boutiques name, that growth. What set me apart from the other boutique is my true passion for fashion, I don’t just wear one of what I sell, I live fashion, breathe it and it absorbs through my skin, people see that and walk in my store to shop with that confidence of she she can rock it I can too.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success through joy and happiness not money… success for me is being happy working at what I love, getting paid for what I enjoy doing. I am not even where I want to be now but I already feel successful when I see my clients not only look good but feel great in the fashion styles I selected for them fearlessly. My criteria is simple – God first -persistence second – happiness in my purpose and boom success.
