Today we’d like to introduce you to Remy Bourzade.
Remy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a French passionate of Wine and Comedy. My dad comes from the Bordeaux area, one of the most famous wine location in the world. So I have always been in this environment and it quickly became a hobby.
So back to years ago, I started to work for small wine producers in France, and helped them to export their wine abroad, especially Germany, Holland or Belgium.
But when I arrived in Florida I felt such an enthusiasm for wine that I wanted to create a real entertainment about it, not just simple or classic wine tastings. So in early 2016 I created Black Glass Events and started to do our wine tasting and discovery programs. First in Fort Lauderdale, but also to Miami, West Palm Beach and of course Orlando.
Has it been a smooth road?
There were a few challenges indeed. Such programs should be made to give a friendly experience to anybody, even the less knowledgeable about the wine. And a lot depend on the energy of our Sommeliers-entertainers. Therefore, it’s important to recruit people that can match those principles, and like us, teach wine with stories, great anecdotes and not too much about the technical aspects of wine.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Black Glass Events – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Speaking today as someone who is devoted to make your event memorable, I wonder how easily you could stop, and imagine a party, where playing wine tasting games would take its atmosphere to another level of awesomeness. I’m not only a wine passionate but also a comedian at heart. And I wanted to find the activity that combined both.
So I started the company here early 2016. But most of our Wine events concepts are born in Paris in 1998 thanks to the CINEREA INTERNATIONAL NETWORK which we are proudly member. The unpretentious discovery of the senses through emotions, sensations and fun, while dealing with universal and epicurean themes such as wine and gastronomy have been the key of countless corporate events all over Europe and now USA.
All our programs will entertain any corporate event (Seminar, Convention, Team building) or private event from Miami to Orlando.
The wine casino -where participants will play wine tasting games on special casino tables – is our absolute must, but we have many other programs, such as the Wine Making Academy: a team building experience where collaborative exercise challenges teams to create their own wine, using our signature Wine Maker Set.
As I say, I like to promote the following blend: laugh, creativity and wine! Because all these ingredients combined are designed to enhance individual and team growth through a memorable and classy experience that adds value to an organization or an event.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Our programs a primarily dedicated to entertain seminars, convention or any corporate events. Therefore, we operate a lot in hotels, restaurants or event spaces.
I really like the variety of venues that South Florida has to offer. From Miami Beach to Coral Gables, Brickell or Wynwood, we have such different atmospheres, always very classy and different, that will make the experience very pleasant.
Miami has also a very open-minded population about wine and gastronomy which is another important aspect.
