Today we’d like to introduce you to Raymond, Erik and Caleb Delgado.
Raymond, Erik and Caleb, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We are the Delgado brothers – Raymond, Erik and Caleb. Along with our younger sister Anett, we were raised in Miami, Florida, by our single mother, Barbara. She worked tirelessly to provide us with everything we needed and we owe many of our achievements to her, for the men we have become. Our entire lives, she has taught us the importance of family unity. A quality we are very proud of, as it has played a big part in why we remain together as a powerful unit in both our personal and professional lives.
We each attended Miami Palmetto Senior High School where we participated in the work experience program and began to understand the definition of “hard work.” At a very young age, we collectively were already helping our mother pay bills, our home, and our sister’s needs. Sports were also a large part of our upbringing, specifically football and wrestling. Being part of a team and competing in sports taught us the importance of dedication, consistency, perseverance and teamwork.
Right after High School the three of us began working for a company in the same industry we work in today – Hydraulic Parking and Service lifts. For almost 10 years we learned all aspects of the business, from fieldwork as mechanics, to business relations, quality control, management and even business finances.
It’s been a long road to where we are today, but we are the proud owners of our company Preferred Hydraulic Solutions. We are pleased to say this year we celebrated our 10th Anniversary. Each of us brothers is happily married with two children and Raymond will be adding a third boy to his family early next year.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Our biggest struggle has been the process of building a business from the ground up, entirely on our own, and with very limited finances, resources and mentorship. We were told many times how going into business together was probably not the best idea, as it could ruin our relationship as brothers. However, instead, we have relied on and supported each other every step of the way. We have made many mistakes, but have been certain to learn from each one, helping us build a solid foundation for Preferred Hydraulic Solutions. The entire journey has made us stronger businessmen.

Preferred Hydraulic Solutions is a family-owned business headquartered in Miami, Florida. In the automotive industry, we specialize in equipment sales, installation, service and repair of: mid- and short- rise scissor lifts, alignment racks, as well as light and heavy-duty car lifts; both above ground and in-ground. We feature rich, high quality automotive garage and tool equipment products at very competitive prices.
We also sell, install, service and repair hydraulic parking lifts and equipment, for optimal car storage in both, commercial and residential homes. We provide a boutique experience for car enthusiasts looking to storage stack their vehicles or simply showcase their car collections. Our attention to detail and quality installation techniques sets us apart from our competitors. We’ve provided residential services to a number of Miami’s elite, including famous musicians, athletes, top business executives, etc.
We primarily service all of South Florida from West Palm Beach, down to the Florida Keys. We offer 24-hour on-site emergency service for customers within those areas. We also provide service to customers nationwide, especially related to online equipment sales through our website www.phslifts.com. Our staff consists of Expert Technicians with over 60 years of combined experience.
We are a one-stop-shop for all your automotive equipment and parking needs.
Who else deserves credit – have you had mentors, supporters, cheerleaders, advocates, clients or teammates that have played a big role in your success or the success of the business? If so – who are they and what role did they plan / how did they help.”
Our family and friends deserve some credit for our success, thus far. We have a strong support system and it would not be possible without them. Our wives are very much involved in many aspects of the business from financial investments to business relations and marketing. We have also been fortunate to have some of our friends help on a few of our job sites before we had a staff of employees, allowing us to deliver our services effectively, efficiently and on time!
The vendors we work with also deserve some credit, and a big thank you, for allowing us to grow our company by allowing us to represent their products.
Similarly, our customers, who gave us a chance early-on in our career also deserve some recognition. Their continued loyalty, repeat business and recommendation to new customers, is greatly appreciated.
