Piret, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I moved to NY from Estonia in 2000 and started my career as a pro makeup artist and brow specialist in top salon in NYC. In 2015 I decided to start my own company, Eyebrow Doctor and now I mostly specialize in Microblading but still offer shaping and tinting as well. I have three locations: two in NY and one in Miami. In January 2020, I opened another company in NYC called Body Roll Studio that has these amazing lymphatic drainage machines equipped w infrared lights and it kind of looks and feels like foam roller on steroids. I’m about to open second location in Miami Beach in June.
Has it been a smooth road?
There are different challenges every day and I have learned a lot. I think the trick is to do one task at a time and to hire people who know about certain things more than you do. It’s been especially challenging with business closures since I can’t work from home. I took that time to find a second location in Miami and get it ready for the time I’m allowed to open. It’s important to follow your gut and intuition and to take a chance and to have faith that everything will work itself out.

I was one of the first artists to introduce Microblading in the States. I had a good solid background in brows after working on them for 15 years and an eye how to perfect them, which came very handy When Microblading. I’m known for natural look, brows that enhance your overall appearance, not take over your face. I’m very proud of myself. I came here with nothing. I figured out what I wanted to do and just went for it.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Miami. I’m a beach girl and sun makes me happy. I like NY as well but definitely prefer Miami mellow lifestyle now that I’m getting older.
