Today we’d like to introduce you to Periko & Jessi Leon.
You could say that Latin Grammy nominated group “Periko & Jessi Leon” was born from a “happy accident”, when they fell in love recording their first song as a duo “Me Vuelvo Loco”. Shortly after they discovered their own perfect recipe to make music, their album “Fuerza Mayor” was born in 2014 with their unique Tropical Pop signature which led them to a Latin Grammy nomination for the “Best New Artist” category that year. Their second album “Sal y Pimienta” (2017 – Dist- SONY MUSIC US LATIN) provided the evolution of their sound into the international market. The duo is also extremely active with brand extension efforts through their music and image with industry giants such as Dish Latino, Telemundo, Zumba, Mc Donalds, Pepsi, Starbucks, Florida Blue, amongst others.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There has always been struggles in between, after being nominated for the Latin Grammys and not winning that year, we felt sad but that’s what made us so strong and have ambition to strive for more.

We are known for making people happy, when we sing to them our goal is to make them smile and dance. The best feeling in the world is when we hear stories of how our music has changed people lives, and helped them come out of their bad times.
What were you like growing up?
Periko: I was a very funny boy and still am, I loved to make jokes to my teachers and friends and always been “El alma de la fiesta” with my guitar, since I was very young.
Jessi: I have always loved music, dancing and acting as a child, I remember dancing in front of the mirror and practicing how I would do that when I grew up, and here I am, doing what I love the most!
