Today we’d like to introduce you to Pejman Ghadimi.
Pejman, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Iran in 1982, escaped to France with a single mother due to the revolution. We tried to come to the United States for 11 years and ended up finally making it to CA on a tourist visa. Finally moved to Northern VA where I realized at 14 that no matter how hard my mom worked, I think we were destined to be poor. Living in basements of relatives to random basements only to start wondering when it would ever end. At 14 years of age, I didn’t have a green card so I started washing cars for $5 a car because McDonald’s turned down my offer to clean toilets for $3/hr. Fast forward the following year, I found a loophole to become a telemarketer at this small company locally and from 15-18, I worked there moving up from telemarketer to an office manager, I also go from 10/hr to $2500 a week in commissions.
By 18, I had a green card and I spent three months looking for a way to leave my job and go work at a bank. I went to college for three weeks only to realize it wasn’t for me. So, I finally figured out how to get myself in a management trainee program for a local bank at the age of 18. Was supposed to be a 12-month program, but I graduated the program in four months partly due to my prev leadership, sales and service experience and I became one of the youngest bank managers in the US two days before I turn 19. Fast forward five years, I move up six times to a VP position. I am the star child of this bank only to realize two years later than I am forced to resign because I no longer fit into the culture. They were right in a way, I drove an orange Lamborghini to work and my boss drove a Nissan Maxima so I knew I wasn’t really a fit for conforming anymore. I spend one year after leaving the bank trying to build a business only to get back at my bank with no results. 12 months later, I went back to washing cars with my old buddies like I did when I was 14 except I had capital saved. I bought a building and turned it into a real business cleaning, detailing, tuning cars.
One year later, the recession was starting and many of our contracts from dealerships were about to go out. I pivoted the business into buying distressed assets from exotic dealers who were going out of business. I turned the business into the worlds first investment firm that specialized in alternative assets like cars, watches, and art. IN 2005, I renamed it VIP motoring and from 2005-2011, I built into an 80M company. In 20o8, I felt like my life lacked meaning, so I started a blog named secret entourage because I knew I was a talented teacher and I wanted to get a lot of younger people the education they needed in business but couldnt get in school, plus I felt like I did it and I knew how to relate to people who didn’t have much growing up. It was a passion project and I slowly kept adding articles, writing books on Entrepreneurship, business, and leadership and fast forward ten books later (none of them really picked up), I write Third Circle Theory, my 11th book except this one is on self-awareness. It hooks people, so much in fact that it sells 100K copies in its 12 months after release bringing significant attention to my other project Secret Entourage. In 2011, I chose to hire a CEO to run VIP Motoring and moved to FL to work on my life project rather than just focus on making money.
In 2013, SecretEntourage.com became home to 400+ millionaire Entrepreneurs mentoring over 35,000 students who are learning Entrepreneurship for the lifetime fee that is less than the cost of 1 textbook. We have helped so many found their companies and to this day, all the profits we make end up being recycled into various entrepreneur based programs across the US we launch in low to moderate communities. Really enjoying teaching, I decided to create several programs that are unique and one of a kind focused on things that I learned in finance and luxury lifestyle by the name of Exoticcarhacks.com and watchconspiracy.com – Today, I have written a total of 12 books, 2 best sellers without ever reading a book, I have built a 100M a year business without a business degree, I have built a social following in the millions and have not only impacted over 1M people with my book but brought together some of the strongest minds in business to teach business to over 35,000 people who probably would have never previously considered the possibilities of being in business. More importantly, to this day, I still take care of my mom who will forever live with me, and I remind her every day that the success I have the privilege of having earned today is nothing more than the byproduct of all the sacrifices she made along the way. This is a very condensed version of my story.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Every aspect of my life has been overcoming one challenge after another. From not having a green card but yet seeking work to understanding that I would have to work 10 times harder than most of my peers who all had degrees and masters when all I was was a C student in high school.
Every business I have built has required me to constantly adapt and change but my DNA just doesn’t allow me to fail or give up which is why I have constantly pushed the envelope and never feared to switch direction, just never giving up on the destination.
One of my biggest personal struggles remained when I lost my corporate job. I was already rich so it wasn’t missing my money as much as someone had taken away my purpose. Someone else had told me I could no longer be a banker and I was very good at it. So, it really hurt to lose my purpose but it also gave birth in my head that my purpose wasn’t linked to my work and that I would never be in a position where someone else could decide me and my mom’s fate.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know?
My company VIP motoring is the ONLY Alternative Asset Investment company that allows a very selective clientele to invest in our hypercars, watches, and art. We have never lost a client since we started this model in 2005. We haven’t taken on a new client since 2010 because we have been at full capacity.
My online brand is known for its integrity, innovation and progressive model of education giving people a real and unfiltered look at business, Entrepreneurship, and finance.
My competitive advantage is that my talent is teaching, which is why I have aligned my talent to my businesses in a manner that allows me daily to not just do what I love but rather what I am really good at, but also creates impact for those that want a better life.
