Hi Patricia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, thank you for making me part of VoyageMiami. I love what VoyageMiami is offering the community. My name is Patricia Paola Martinez, also known as PattyPaola.
I am the founder of www.arcoiris-co.com, a boutique nail lacquer brand focused on non-toxic, cruelty-free polishes. I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Miami, Florida. A nail polish enthusiast at heart ever since childhood.
I designed ArcoirisCo through the 2020 pandemic’s lockdown. I saw the perfect opportunity to bring my vision and ideas to life. Since I graduated high school, I dedicated my time to grow in the corporate business. I will always be grateful for the opportunities and growth I have had as an executive but thought it was time for me to create something I have always been passionate about.
The idea behind ArcoirisCo is to contribute a clean and fun product. Arcoiris Non-Toxic Nail Lacquer line is not only clean but also inclusive. I feel strongly about offering a non-toxic, salon-quality product that is safe for both customers and manicurists.
ArcoirisCo has beautifully curated colors specially mixed and imagined with everyone in mind, notwithstanding skin complexions or gender identity.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am grateful for all my experiences as all have come with personal growth. Opening your own brand and bringing your vision to life is never smooth sailing for anyone, especially through a pandemic. It was a high risk as the economy was not stable and nothing was certain.
ArcoirisCo took a year to create. A lot of research, a lot of learning.
As I persevere through, I continue to learn. I always have to remember to not give up and focus on small goals. I try to remind myself to celebrate all accomplishments as small as they may seem, gratitude is key to my continuous growth.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Today, not only do I run the online boutique, www.arcoiris-co.com but I am a full-time real estate regional director. I set quarterly goals of sales that get achieved.
Achieving goals and completing projects are extremely fulfilling. Running the business and overseeing the off-campus student housing portfolio as a regional director it’s both demanding and accomplishing. Multi-tasking I can say is one of my fortes.
I like to think that what sets me apart from others is my determination and focus on getting the job done no matter the daily complications.
I am in the midst of starting two parallel businesses a photography studio called www.FotoPhlorida.com – a studio dedicated to offering artistic images to its clients as well as an Instagram boutique: @LuxLushShop that offers high-end authentic luxury items at a discounted price, sourced by my best friends and me.
I am most proud of my support system, my mom, and my closest friends, truly none would be worth it, without them. When the stress is at its all-time high and fear tries to sneak in, they keep me grounded. Extremely proud of my mother who not only has taught me to be a badass but that anything is possible, thank you Mami, Te Amo.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
William Jennings Bryan beautifully said “The way to develop self-confidence is to do the thing you fear and get a record of successful experiences behind you. Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.”
To achieve anything in life I believe we must take risks, most projects seem big, scary, and unattainable, until they are behind you. Going through the fire and coming across as successful on the other end is what is all about. I believe in taking measurable risks.
I believe in research and data, weighing out risk and reward; if the probabilities of the reward are a win, take the risk!
