Meet Pamela and Michael Manning of Legacy Advanced Health in Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela and Michael Manning.

Pamela and Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Soon after completing nursing school in 2009, I was rushed to the hospital and later had surgery that kept me hospitalized for 10 days. For me, that was very traumatic because to be a nurse and a patient and now loosing control, it caused me to have an awakening of what it felt like from the patients perspective.

The care received was less than adequate and I can recall feeling fearful and having a lack of trust in the providers. I knew then, that I needed to do something to make it better for the patients that I impacted. I returned to school and completed a dual Masters Degree in Nursing Education and Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with the intention to open Legacy Advanced Health.

In the news daily, there’s some references medical insurance and how it will affect the care received in the future. I needed to help by creating a system that strive on excellence, affordable and attainable.

As a practitioner, I am now able to understand how the healthcare industry fails us and willing to be something that will make a difference in people lives.

My husband Michael Manning has been my number one supporter and partner in Legacy Advanced Health. He keeps me grounded and focus on the mission and vision, we both believes in respecting and treating everyone equally regardless of their previous medical conditions.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been easy but nothing has ever been easy in my life. From finding out that I was a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) baby in high school to not being able to attend college until later than expected and taking one class at a time while working full time. This crippled some of the goals set for myself; however, I do not have any regrets because my challenges faced shaped me to become who I am today. We encountered many obstacles but because of our faith and the constant encouragement of my husband we are now in the final phase of the company.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Legacy Advanced Health – what should we know?

Something that has been missing in the healthcare arena! Can’t wait to check it out as my relative from out of the country often need medical care for little things that cost a fortune at the hospital or doctors office simply because of lack of insurance. This is a novel concept!
