Meet Oriana Daly of Face by Ori

Today we’d like to introduce you to Oriana Daly.

Hi Oriana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve actually spent my career working in construction project management, which is a very male-dominated industry. My day-to-day life has always been fast-paced, structured, and centered around managing large projects, solving problems, and keeping everything running smoothly. Creativity wasn’t part of my job description, but it has always been a huge part of who I am.

Makeup started as a passion long before it became a business. Friends began asking me to do their makeup for special events and weddings, and I quickly realized how much I loved being part of those moments. There was something really special about helping someone feel confident, calm, and beautiful on one of the most important days of their lives.

What began as doing makeup for friends slowly turned into more referrals, then inquiries from people I didn’t know, and eventually full bridal bookings. At some point I realized this was no longer just a hobby – it had grown into a real business.

Today, I specialize in luxury bridal makeup and focus heavily on the experience just as much as the artistry. My background in project management actually became a huge advantage. Weddings require organization, timelines, communication, and professionalism — all skills I built in construction. I’ve been able to combine that structure with my creativity to create a seamless, calming, and high-end experience for my brides.

It’s been an unexpected but incredibly rewarding journey, blending two very different worlds into a business that I truly love.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Balancing a full-time career in construction project management while trying to grow a makeup business on the weekends. That meant early mornings, late nights, weekends filled with weddings, and very little downtime. Learning how to manage my time and energy was one of the biggest challenges in the beginning.

Another struggle was learning the business side of artistry. Doing makeup and running a business are two completely different skill sets. I had to learn pricing, contracts, marketing, client communication, social media, and how to create a luxury experience, all through trial and error. There were moments of self-doubt, especially in the early stages when I was figuring out my worth and raising my prices.

Working in a male-dominated industry during the week and building a beauty brand on the weekends also felt like living two very different lives. It took time to find confidence in owning both identities and embracing the fact that they actually complement each other.

Like most service-based businesses, I’ve also learned that not every client is the right fit, and that setting boundaries is essential. That was a big growth moment for me.

So it hasn’t been smooth, but every challenge helped shape the business I have today. Each obstacle pushed me to become more confident, more organized, and more intentional about the experience I create for my brides.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Face by Ori is a luxury bridal makeup artistry brand focused on creating a calm, elevated experience for brides and their bridal parties. I specialize in soft glam and full glam looks that photograph beautifully, last all day, and still look timeless years later. My goal is always to enhance my clients’ natural features while making them feel confident, relaxed, and taken care of on one of the most important days of their lives.

What really sets my business apart is the experience. I bring the same organization and professionalism from my construction project management background into every wedding day. Brides get clear timelines, seamless communication, dependable scheduling, and a calm presence during what can be a very emotional and high-energy morning. I’m not just there to do makeup — I’m there to help set the tone for the day, keep the energy positive, and make sure everything flows smoothly.

I’m also known for my skin-focused approach. I put a huge emphasis on skin prep and long-wear techniques so my brides never look cakey or overdone. My style is polished, modern, and luxurious, with a focus on creating makeup that looks just as beautiful in person as it does in professional photography and video.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building something that feels intentional and personal. Face by Ori is rooted in professionalism, luxury, and genuine care for my clients. I want readers to know that when they book with me, they’re getting more than a makeup service. They’re getting a supportive, organized, and high-end experience designed to make them feel their absolute best on one of the most important days of their lives.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the bridal beauty industry becoming much more skin-focused and experience-driven over the next 5–10 years. Brides are increasingly educated about skincare and ingredients, so the trend is moving away from heavy makeup and toward radiant, natural, long-wear looks that enhance real skin.

Another big shift is the demand for a luxury, high-touch experience. Brides aren’t just booking makeup anymore — they’re booking someone who helps create a calm, organized, and supportive wedding morning. Professionalism, communication, and the overall experience are becoming just as important as the artistry.

Social media and content will continue shaping the industry too. Brides now discover artists online and come in with clear inspiration and higher expectations, so makeup artists are also becoming educators, content creators, and brand builders.

Overall, the industry is moving toward more personalized, polished, and experience-focused services.
