Entrepreneurship has always been in my blood, from buying cases of water and selling it on my street to kids playing outside. Even as I have had many corporate jobs in my lifetime, I have always carried myself like I was my own boss. The turning point for me was a discussion I have with my manager and they were upset that I was working on the weekend after a hurricane had forced everyone to stay home for a few days. I decided to come into work on Saturday to reach all of my clients. The discussion leads me to go 100% into the family business.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been smooth at all! The biggest obstacle has been the lack of capital! We have lost opportunities for contracts because we didn’t have the capital to start the contract. Lack of capital can really stifle a business, especially a new business.
