Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Khomchik.
Olga, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Yes, everything that I have, it’s only my decision to change something in my life day by day. I’m born in Belarus, when I was at school, one of the managers of model school found me and after two years, my child career in model school, I decided to be model. But in Belarus 20 years ago, it means nothing. In my country, after you finished model school (1 school for all town), you don’t know where to go.
I went to study at Linguistique university, French faculty. Study years was so boring for me, yes, I did a lot of free photoshoot in Minsk, but nothing serious in Belarus, in that time, we didn’t have any modeling agency. After my study at the university – I move to Russia and then in Thailand. In the last country, my hobby of modeling transforms into a job.
I worked in Blockchain for more than five years and, in parallel, I did many photo shoots for Thailand hotels, Thai cosmetics, and clothing.
Blogging in my life come here in the USA, three years ago, in that time, I already have more than 50k followers in Instagram and brands found me. I worked with such great beauty, fashion, technology, lifestyle, wellness companies. I like it! I love to share with my followers everything that I tried, communicate with people and every time I tried something new. Also, modeling career doesn’t stop here, of course, in Miami not much work as like in NYC, but I like what I have.
I’d also like to add to that I am now helping my friend, she is a fashion designer to develop her company of women’s clothing. We do many fashion shows in Miami, photoshoots, and exhibitions.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Everything in my life was not smooth. First, if you move to another country without family and friends, you didn’t speak English – of course, it will be a hard time for you. To assimilate to a new country, understand a new culture and find new people in your way- that’s a great adventure and good lessons in your life. It is like “getting out of your comfort zone.”
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Brands find me on Instagram, they propose some products or invite me to events, shows, concerts, conferences. In exchange, I share with my followers my opinion of products or give advice, discounts sometimes, do giveaways. I specialize in Fashion, Beauty, Sport & Wellness and tech.
Tell us about your childhood, what were you like growing up?
I was curious and very active. I loved performing in front of people. And I was a big dreamer, “living in the USA” also was my dream, that means dreams come true, right?
