Today we’d like to introduce you to Nedaara Powell.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Every canvas begins blank; however, throughout the journey of the artist articulating their thoughts Into a beautiful painting, a journey is formed. I think of my passion, art, and business as a beautiful journey, I embarked on, with my own special key. I began drafting the blueprint for Billion Blinx Incorporated in October of 2016 with the sole vision of being a Certified Mink Eyelash Technician. After emerging myself into this industry, I began developing and acquiring knowledge and taste for something bigger and better for myself. I decided to take this journey more concrete by obtaining my esthetician license in 2017. My appetite for diversity grew immensely for a strong team; I began undergoing intense and in-depth esthetician training at Seva Beauty Spa; while simultaneously teaching mink eyelash artistry to many who were interested in the eyelash industry. Along with teaching, I decided to brand products for retail to introduce a new form of income into my business, while making it easier to obtain material for my courses. Teaching is so passionate, and I grew to find a new passion for teaching and helping others. In 2018, I decided to also become a Teaching Assistant at the prestigious Hollywood Institute of Beauty Careers; using the skills I had learned to educate those on the Billion Blinx team of ways to improve and succeed personally and business-wise.
Please tell us about Billion Blinx. What else should we know?
Billion Blinx strives to make everyone feel comfortable and welcomed while being pampered at my Miramar establishment by constantly expanding and consistently improving their services, courses, networking seminars, and products. Billion Blinx Incorporated is determined to improve the beauty and wellness industry with positivity and creativity.
Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of crative professionals has changed? How do local, national, or international events and issues affect your work?
I tend to look at the positive aspects of the balance scales of life. An artist today is someone who embodies character, spiritually in-tuned, positivity, beauty, personal growth/change, personality, charisma, and social awareness. Many of the artists whether it is through music, art, speaking, beauty, etc. should possess these qualities because many of us are seen from many angles today, with social media as the forefront. Many kids, cultures, and human beings, in general, are watching us more now, at a finger click access. Nothing is private unless you allow it to be, however, artists who understand people aren’t just buying into your art, image, style, or team they are interested in all the above are a triple, I mean quadruple God fearing person. Someone who is consciously well rounded and has no fear to express themselves creatively is a true artist to me. As for me, the zeitgeist of the times are very enlightening to me as an artist, whether it is something locally or nationally, positive or negative it gives us social awareness. And to be socially aware is so beautiful. When I go on an artist social media account and see them doing, posting images or producing a video on their social media explaining how they were affected about something that happened outside of their peripherals means you care! And I am a BROWN WOMEN! And to keep my culture alive and the history we create now is so imperative to me because our culture is so deciding.
