Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Paramore
Hi Monique, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Empowered by Purpose: Balancing Education, Real Estate, and Motherhood
I grew up in a single-parent household with three siblings, where I quickly learned the value of hard work and resilience. In 2007, I embarked on a path toward a degree in education at Florida Atlantic University, determined to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
A pivotal moment in my journey came in 2008, just months before my 19th birthday, when I purchased my first home. I was fortunate to receive two grants totaling approximately $60,000, which helped me purchase and renovate the property. This early experience with homeownership sparked a deep interest in real estate— a passion I would later turn into a successful career.
In 2013, I graduated with a Master’s in Exceptional Student Education and began teaching at Royal Palm Beach High School. During my time there, I pursued a specialist degree in educational leadership at Nova Southeastern University. Over the years, I took on several leadership roles, including Activities Director in 2015, ESOL Coordinator, and Testing Coordinator by 2019. These experiences helped shape my leadership skills and paved the way for my current position as Assistant Principal for Hospital Homebound Instructional Services with the School District of Palm Beach County.
While refining my leadership skills in education, I also decided to pursue a career in real estate. In May 2021, I sold my first home, profiting over $180,000, which I used to purchase an investment property in March 2022, along with a new construction home my daughter and I now call home in Port Saint Lucie, in June 2023. I officially became a licensed realtor in July 2021 and helped my first client purchase their first home that October. Since then, I’ve successfully closed 18 deals, with a total sales volume of $4,878,100.00.
Today, I balance my role as an assistant principal with my work as a real estate sales associate, all while embracing my new and most important role as a mother. In November 2022, I was blessed with the birth of my daughter, who has been the greatest joy of my life. Navigating the responsibilities of work, real estate, and motherhood has been a challenge, but one I approach with determination and love.
My journey has been shaped by a passion for helping others, whether in the classroom, in the community, or through real estate transactions. I’m excited for what the future holds as I continue to grow in both my professional and personal life, and I remain committed to creating opportunities for success for myself and others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has certainly not been a smooth road. Like many people, I’ve faced my fair share of heartache, financial setbacks, and personal challenges. Along the way, I’ve had to navigate pregnancy, co-parenting, and the realities of single motherhood, all while working to maintain success in both my career and my real estate endeavors. At times, it felt nearly impossible, but each struggle has taught me valuable lessons. Some of the pivotal challenges I’ve encountered include:
Managing a Home at 19: While the idea of owning a home at such a young age might sound appealing, the reality was much more demanding. At 19, I was in college, working, and learning to manage all that comes with homeownership. I’m grateful for the experience and the opportunities it led to, but looking back, it was tough. One of the first challenges I faced was when I hired someone to install tile throughout my home. Unfortunately, the installer quit halfway through because the floor wasn’t level, leaving me to hire another company to remove the poorly installed tile and redo the job. It was a costly lesson, but one I’ll never forget.
Pregnancy and Preparing the Airbnb: Just as I closed on my investment property, I found out I was pregnant. The following months were incredibly challenging, as I was not only dealing with the physical demands of pregnancy but also preparing my property for use as an Airbnb. I was sick and overwhelmed, and though it was difficult, I was incredibly thankful for the support of my village. Friends and family stepped in when they could, helping me with tasks and offering encouragement, which made a huge difference.
Heartbreak, New Motherhood, and Single Parenting: Without a doubt, the most challenging experience in my life has been navigating heartbreak while trying to balance the overwhelming responsibilities of being a new mother and maintaining multiple careers. Becoming a mother was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, but it was also a major transition. At the same time, I was dealing with personal heartbreak and the complexities of single motherhood. Heartbreak itself is difficult, but experiencing it as a new mom, while trying to juggle career responsibilities, is a level of stress that’s hard to describe. This struggle has been the most difficult yet also one of the most transformative parts of my journey. It forced me to reevaluate my priorities and grow in ways I never imagined, and I’ve emerged stronger, more determined, and more focused on creating a better future for myself and my daughter.
These experiences have been difficult, but they’ve also been formative. Each challenge has given me a deeper understanding of my own strength and resilience, and I continue to push forward with determination, knowing that I can overcome anything that comes my way.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The most important quality to my success is being driven. Throughout my journey—from earning my degree in education to navigating the complexities of real estate, all while balancing motherhood—I’ve remained relentlessly focused on my goals. Being driven means having a clear sense of purpose and the internal motivation to keep going, no matter the obstacles in my path.
Starting at a young age, I was determined to make something of myself, and that drive has been the foundation of everything I’ve accomplished. From purchasing my first home at 18 to pursuing several educational degrees and later transitioning into real estate, I’ve never stopped striving for more. There were many moments when the road felt overwhelming—whether it was managing my career, navigating the responsibilities of being a single mother, or making tough financial decisions—but my drive to succeed and create opportunities for myself and my family kept me moving forward.
It’s this internal drive that pushed me to not only become a successful educator, taking on leadership roles at my school, but also to launch a real estate career while still pursuing my goals in education. My drive to continuously learn and grow is what keeps me focused on expanding my business, closing deals, and helping others achieve their dreams of homeownership. It’s what fuels my passion for my work, motivates me to push through the tough days, and empowers me to keep setting new goals.
Being driven has allowed me to turn challenges into opportunities, to never settle for less, and to always keep moving forward, no matter how many times life throws me off course. It’s the core characteristic that has propelled me to where I am today—and it’s the one I’ll continue to rely on as I grow both professionally and personally.
