Today we’d like to introduce you to Miss Petite Cosplay
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello. I am known as my Cosplay Name, Miss Petite Cosplay.I’m a streamer, proud geek, influencer, published cosplay model, and a gamer! I have been on cosplay podcasts on YouTube, such as CosplayAlliance and Geeks5Ever, and have been a cosplay guest and judge for numerous conventions and cosplay events. You can find me on multiple cosplay magazines and at different live-streaming apps, such as Pococha, Hakuna, and 17LIVE, with over 30,000 followers. I have also been sponsored by companies, some of which are: Panasonic, Poly, DH LifeLabs, Solawave, MicOtaku, CosplaySky, MagicWardrobes, TTDEYE, MocoQueen, AvidLove, GUNNAR Optiks, and was the 2024 Journalist for the renown cosplay brand, Miccostumes, recently at San Diego Comic Con. My passion for making people smile has led me to pursue a professional route towards cosplaying, streaming, and modeling for brands. I have always been an avid fan of anime, video games, superheroes, and pop culture.
I have been cosplaying since 2017, on and off. It all started with my brother wanting to go to a video game tournament at a convention. I decided to go last minute and whipped up a cosplay purely out of my closet in 2 hours. I don’t know why I wanted to cosplay during my first convention, but I’m so glad I did! I had looked up that some of the voice actresses from the show would be attending as guests, and to my surprise, I was spotted and recognized by one of the voice actresses, whom I took a photo with! I was completely out of my comfort zone, but I fell in love with the convention experience and cosplaying, as well as seeing others cosplay my favorite characters and bringing them to life. I feel as if cosplaying is empowering and is an all-around talent; with learning how to sew, crafting, makeup, wig styling and cutting, and posing for photos while in character. I am now streaming as a cosplayer and gamer! My life has completely changed ever since I began this journey and hope to continue learning as I go!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My passions for cosplay, live-streaming, and modeling have never been linear roads, although intertwined. I have gone through extreme cyber-bullying for the competitive nature on all three, especially as a disabled person. There have been moments where I have questioned my self-worth and have constantly challenged my inner demons (AKA, my disabilities). With the ongoing stigma towards mental health, I will continue to advocate for more education on neurodiversity. I was always the selective mute, anxious girl stuck in her shell, but despite my size and height, I had giant aspirations to be able to make a difference in this world. I knew it would be almost impossible for me to model due to my stature and proportions, but cosplaying and promoting products have made me so happy as I can become that character in front of the camera in that moment. There are the good, the bad, and the ugly in all spheres, with gate-keeping, bullying, and gossip being recurring factors. Being born as someone whom is naturally introverted, shy, nervous, and neurodivergent, being accepted socially has never been something I have fully succeeded in. But something ignited within me when I took that first impromptu step to cosplay and enter the live-streaming scene to challenge my fears. I never knew it would change my outlook and trajectory in life. I felt like I could be part of a crowd, to relate to others based on fandoms. Yet, what was most important to me was how I could change someone’s day by simply cosplaying as their favorite character, asking other cosplayers for photos in admiration, and to make my supporters (and friends) laugh by being my genuine, dorky self! I didn’t have to hide my flaws because there are
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am currently a content creator, being sponsored and collaborating with big and small brands. Despite my social anxiety and agoraphobia, I somehow was successful in both live-streaming and sponsorships, being a top live-streamer in every live-streaming app I have been on, even being recruited by numerous talent agencies! It was shocking to see the amount of support I have received throughout my career. I could have never imagined to be who I am today, especially with how fearful I was of the world prior to entering cosplay and streaming. I am currently taking a hiatus in streaming in order to pursue a more professional cosplay career through podcasts, events, and being a cosplay guest/judge in a myriad of conventions and local events for like-minded individuals! But I have not forgotten my love for streaming and video games, as I am still currently building my own gaming PC in order to combine all of my passions into one! My biggest drive is to be able to get my female dog back and live with her since rent is too high and I cannot have my two dogs under the same roof due to the Homeowners Association rules of only one dog and one cat. I will keep working hard to achieve all of my dreams, including being back with my fur baby, since my boy dog would stay with my mother and is safe. My heart will not be complete until I have both of my dogs safe and near me. I used to be ashamed of being disabled, but I now understand that my mind and body is wired differently rather than being someone whom is less than the general public. I may not be the “norm”, but then again, who is? No one is perfect and no one should pursue perfection. I have learned to love myself for who I am!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I want to take my love for cosplay, streaming, gaming, dork central, modeling, and content creation to another level! I have no intent on stopping from pursuing my goals in expanding to every possible social media in the possible horizon and engaging with all types of cultures. I love learning languages and embrace diversity, almost to a nerdy extent! I love sociology and will continue to embrace audiences from all countries, through social media and by traveling more with both of my dogs, as they are my beacon of hope. I know I will be happy with trying and continue to keep that hope alive. Because I refuse to live with any regrets and take anything for granted!
