Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Miller.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always been an inventor. But, not an inventor I would personally be impressed with, as the solutions I invent are done for my personal needs. However, what has been true throughout my life is that the things I invent for myself tend to fit into the needs of lots of other people. This fact is why I consider myself a practical inventor.
Over the years, I have invented and patented quite a few things. But in 2010, I began developing a birth control solution for men, as I experienced there was a void in the marketplace for men.
It was during this journey that SoundHealth was born. SoundHealh is a medical innovation agency. Unique to our platform is the ability to attain unbiased scientific validation.
Has it been a smooth road?
The medical device development business certainly has its share of obstacles. One such huge obstacle is the need for highly qualified specific talent. However, once the academic and medical community became aware of what we were up to we discovered lots of people shared in the desire to collaborate with us.
This brought us to several obstacles related to the intellectual property. What we learned was that bringing innovations into the academic arena held the potential to jeopardize SoundHealth’s intellectual property claims.
Once we were aware of that fact, we designed a program that would enable us to “Spin in” I.P. to universities without compromising the ownership.
It was at this time that SoundHealth opened it’s doors up to other innovators to benefit from our unique platform.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the SoundHealth story. Tell us more about the business.
SoundHealth is a medical innovation agency. We validate the innovation, prove the market desire and auction the innovation to the worlds largest companies for their acquisition.
SoundHealth is a unique platform that enables medical innovators the ability to attain unbiased scientific validation for their products.
This increases the value of the property exponentially, which helps us to exploit the value to all stakeholders involved in this process.
We operate very transparently which we have found to be a unique way of licensing intellectual property.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We see our platform becoming the preferred way for tech transfer, another word for intellectual property licensing.
