Meet Michael Douglas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Douglas.

Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I got my first camera when I graduated high school in 2015 but sold it and then bought a new one in 2019 before the pandemic.

I started taking photography more seriously shortly after 2020 especially teaching myself the format of film photography along with a good friend of mine. Day in and day out I was just drowning myself in Youtube videos, testing out different film stocks and cameras and now I’m here.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not, I never realized how much money you run through studying and experimenting with film. All while working a full-time job and trying to finish school. And also trying to just get better at my craft and also trying to take care of everyday life as well.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My day job consisted of me being an assistant manager for different retail companies. But aside from that, I’ve been advertising myself as a travel photographer within the state.

I also am into fashion in the slightest and I co-own a vintage clothing shop with some good friends of mine. I think I’m best known for my sense of style and photography. There’s nothing special about either, but I think it’s the simplicity of them that people tend to gravitate to which is pretty dope.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
My emails and DMs are always open. As far as support goes, I take anything as small as a like for real. I would think that’s a sign of some sort of admiration and acknowledgment if that’s the only way people see your work, right? At least for now.
