Today we’d like to introduce you to Melinda Bernstein.
Melinda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Melinda Bernstein was born on Miami Beach, is a native Floridian who became a Rabbi on Mothers Day 2009 just as her two children were headed off to college. Melinda is fast becoming Florida’s Favorite Wedding Rabbi. Melinda was raised Reform, raised children Orthodox while married and raises eyebrows as a Florida’s Favorite Wedding Rabbi.
She is a favorite because she has done her spiritual work and recognizes God has a special plan for every heart.
“I feel I was chosen to become a Rabbi to be a voice for healing and to help others heal the holes in their hearts, minds and open to their souls fullest expression”. Melinda received her S’Micha (a private Ordination through Rabbi Loring Frank’s Florida Academy And Institute of Religion), but not after being certified in Jewish Energy Healing, Life Coaching and Kundalini Yoga, writing two books (one published) , teaching The Sacred Roadmap, to couples and The Sacred Flirt to singles. Melinda lived in Northern California (aka the garden of eden) from 2012 to 2015 and was interviewed on Private Matters TV.
Melinda performs weddings, funerals and related counseling as well as teaching those who seek soul guidance through Kabbalah. Melinda continues to seek ways to expand her own path of Jewish learning and holds the candle above her soul when doing so. Read Melinda’s Marketing Plan.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe many health issues stem from spiritual depletion and can be healed. I overcame chronic pain hidden in the psyche and my own soul so I know this to be true. I also acknowledge that being a “unique” woman in a man’s role has been challenging.
Please tell us about melindabernstein.
I love creating spiritual ceremonies, rituals and seeing the sacred in all. I love performing funerals, weddings, baby naming, vow renewals and unveilings. I am most proud of my courage and strength to take a stand for myself and do what feels lovingly best. As a woman Rabbi in a Patriarchy world, I am unique here in South Florida.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had my way, I’d have chosen grace a lot earlier than in my 40’s.
