Mea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a full-time student at Florida International University. I’ve always been torn with what career path I wanted to pursue. I felt the pressure from family to go to college, get a degree and work a 9-5, however, I always knew that wasn’t for me. When Covid 19 shocked the world in 2020 and we were all placed in quarantine, I reached a low point in my life. For months I would just lay in bed either watching TV or taking online classes. I knew I wanted more but didn’t know what that was…yet. This is when my sister contacted me and suggested we start a small business. This was the beginning of YoungForever by CJ. We brainstormed on what we both loved the most and that was health and beauty. We knew we wanted to create products that were not only vegan but also affordable. Many of us read the labels on food products but do we read the labels on our skincare or cosmetic products. Most people don’t! We wanted to create YoungForever by CJ to provide our customers with safe and natural self-care products.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t believe my entrepreneur journey has been a difficult one. The most difficult part was formulating the ingredients of the products. Being involved in the product making and understanding the ingredient’s skin-loving properties is a priority at YoungForever. It took several months of research and trial and error to produce the desired final products.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
YoungForever by CJ launched in September 2020 with three products; lip gloss, lip scrub and lip balm. The products released were named after family members; my sister, two nieces and myself. YoungForever is a family-owned and operated business who takes pride in providing our customers with nothing but the best. We create handmade, vegan & cruelty-free self-care products for happy, healthy and glowing skin. YoungForever by CJ looks forward to becoming the one-stop shop for all your self-care needs. What we are most known for is our out of the box scents. Some scents you can find in our shop are; cotton candy, lemon-head, marshmallow and sugar cookie. What we are most proud of is our growth. We’ve not only expanded our product line to include body butter, body soap, body scrub, etc. We’ve also expanded globally. We have customers throughout North America, Europe and even Asia.
