Hi Mary Kate, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I used to struggle with dating, constantly chasing and lacking confidence. My disorganized approach led to poor boundaries and, after marrying at 25 and divorcing at 32, I knew I needed to change. As a single mom, I realized my life didn’t match the family I truly wanted. Determined to break old patterns, I developed a dating system that focused on self-awareness, learning from past relationships, and identifying the qualities needed for a healthy partnership. In just 2 1/2 months of applying this system, I attracted my now husband, Andrew.
Now, I’m passionate about helping others find their perfect match. With over a decade of experience in health coaching, I’ve now built a fulfilling career in matchmaking, guiding clients to not only meet their ideal partner but to grow into the person they’re meant to be. I believe everyone’s person is out there – it’s all about becoming ready to attract them in.
I’m fortunate to say that I have a thriving business of helping singles navigate more effectively and efficiently the dating landscape and also find true love. And yes, it’s possible even in Miami.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely comes with its challenges. As any small business owner I experienced loads of challenges with figuring out what sticks well as far as marketing goes and with my particular audience. I’m just now getting a better handle on that.
In regards to the business itself, the biggest challenge I face is recruiting quality singles for my clients. I attend many networking events and I also host monthly singles events to recruit, but it is something that all matchmakers face – the search for that single who meets all the non negotiables that their clients are looking for. In particular, single men! I typically have 10 quality women to 3 quality men. Another struggle I face is managing well the expectations of clients. I always say I can predict compatibility but I cannot predict chemistry, and I tell them from the beginning – matchaking is not like buying a candy bar of your choice from a vending machine. There is so much that goes into it.
