Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlene Goldman.
Hi Marlene, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Long before I became a Realtor, I became someone searching for a place to call home.
Growing up in a broken home, I developed a deep appreciation for what home truly means. To me, it was never just four walls or a roof—it was a feeling of safety, stability, and belonging. At 19 years old, I purchased my first property, not because I had a grand investment strategy, but because I wanted to create the kind of home I had always longed for. Looking back, I realize that decision unknowingly became the first chapter of my real estate journey.
Professionally, I began my career working with ultra-high-net-worth clients in Miami’s financial district. That experience taught me the importance of discretion, exceptional service, attention to detail, and building relationships rooted in trust. While I enjoyed the work, I eventually realized I wanted a career where I could make a more personal and lasting impact on people’s lives.
Real estate became that opportunity.
It allowed me to combine my financial background with my passion for helping others navigate one of the biggest decisions they’ll ever make. Every transaction is unique because every client has a different story, different priorities, and different dreams. I believe my job extends far beyond opening doors or negotiating contracts. It’s about listening, educating, advocating, and helping people make confident decisions that align with their goals.
Over the years, I’ve built my business on relationships rather than transactions. One of the philosophies that guides my work is simple: people may forget the details of the transaction, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel. I strive to make what can often be a stressful process feel seamless, supportive, and even enjoyable. That commitment has allowed me to build a business fueled largely by repeat clients and referrals—something I’m incredibly grateful for.
When I look back, it’s remarkable how life comes full circle. The young woman who simply wanted to create a sense of stability for herself could never have imagined that one decision would lead to a career centered around helping others find their own version of home. Today, that’s what motivates me every day. Helping people buy or sell real estate isn’t just my profession—it’s my privilege.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth or linear journey. Like most entrepreneurs, there have been moments of uncertainty, setbacks, and more than a few times when I questioned whether I was on the right path.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been building a business without the kind of support system many people take for granted. I’ve often had to figure things out on my own, make difficult decisions independently, and learn through trial and error. While that hasn’t always been easy, it has forced me to become incredibly resourceful.
I’ve learned that when you don’t have all the answers—or a team of people to lean on—you become a problem solver. You adapt. You find solutions. You keep moving forward, even when things feel uncertain. Looking back, some of the most difficult moments in my career have also been the moments that shaped me the most.
Real estate itself can be an emotional business. Deals fall apart unexpectedly. Markets shift. Clients experience stress, and as their advisor, you carry that weight alongside them. There are highs that are incredibly rewarding and lows that can be equally discouraging. Learning how to navigate those emotional swings while continuing to show up for clients has been one of the greatest lessons of my career.
I’m actually proud of the fact that I’ve built my business through resilience rather than shortcuts. Every challenge taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way. It strengthened my confidence, sharpened my instincts, and reminded me that growth often comes from the moments that test us the most.
If there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s that success isn’t about avoiding obstacles—it’s about continuing to move forward despite them. I’m still learning, still growing, and I think that’s part of what makes this career so rewarding.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in helping buyers, sellers, and investors navigate the South Florida real estate market, but if you asked me what I really do, I’d say I help people make confident decisions during some of the biggest moments of their lives.
Buying or selling a home is rarely just a financial transaction. It’s often tied to a new beginning, a growing family, a career change, a major investment, or the closing of one chapter and the start of another. My role is to guide clients through that process with honesty, clear communication, and a level of care that helps them feel supported every step of the way.
While I work with a wide range of clients—from first-time buyers to seasoned investors—I don’t believe exceptional service should be reserved for a particular price point. Every client deserves to feel heard, valued, and represented with the same level of professionalism and commitment. That’s a standard I’ve held myself to since the beginning of my career.
What sets me apart is something that can’t be measured in sales volume or production numbers. In a world that has become increasingly automated and transactional, I’ve intentionally built my business around something much more personal: trust.
Technology has transformed the real estate industry in many positive ways, but it has also made many interactions feel impersonal. I believe people still want someone who listens, who communicates honestly, who answers the phone, and who genuinely cares about their outcome. That’s the kind of advisor I strive to be.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a particular transaction or milestone—it’s the relationships I’ve built over the years. Many of my clients return when they’re ready for their next move, and many of the people I work with today were introduced to me by past clients. To me, there is no greater compliment than someone trusting me enough to recommend me to the people they care about most.
Trust has always been the foundation of my business. Real estate is simply where I get to earn it every day.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If I had to identify one quality that’s had the greatest impact on my success, I would say it’s resourcefulness.
My career hasn’t followed a perfectly planned path, and there have been plenty of moments where I didn’t have all the answers or a clear roadmap. I’ve learned to adapt, stay curious, and find solutions instead of focusing on obstacles. That mindset has served me well, both personally and professionally.
Real estate is an industry where no two transactions are exactly alike. Every client, every property, and every negotiation presents a different set of circumstances. Being resourceful means knowing how to think creatively, remain calm under pressure, and navigate unexpected challenges without losing sight of the client’s goals.
I’ve also learned that resourcefulness isn’t about doing everything yourself—it’s about knowing how to find the right answers, ask the right questions, and continually learn. Markets change, technology evolves, and every experience teaches you something new. I believe staying adaptable is one of the greatest strengths any professional can have.
Looking back, many of the challenges I’ve faced have ultimately strengthened my ability to serve my clients. They’ve taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of approaching every situation with a solution-oriented mindset. Those lessons continue to shape the way I do business today.
