Hi Maria, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had been working in offices for many years as a receptionist, and also as a medical assistant. I decided to get a dog for my son and then in doing so, I realized that I could use my own creativity and own skills as an artist and crafter to create accessories for dogs. After that, I thought that it would be a great idea to do this business for myself. That’s how I started Woofin Good Dog Accessories.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I do many markets in and around Florida. Sometimes the sales are good and sometimes they are not. But I love what I’m doing at this point with this business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I started painting, nursery murals for friends, children, and my own, so I’ve always had and used my creative ability and artistic ability to do things. I’m very proud of the fact that as more of a creative and artistic type person, I have been able to start this business that I am currently working in with dog accessories.
I believe the things that set me apart from others who do similar things are my ability to put colors together to use different combinations of materials when I am creating things and also my attention to detail in the finishing parts of what I am preparing and making.
