Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco Generani.
Hi Marco, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Born in ’99, I found my musical groove early, inspired by EDM giants. My sound’s all about blending afro and deep house vibes. Been at it for 15 years, spinning tunes and producing beats in clubs worldwide.
My tracks? They’re a fusion of African beats and deep house rhythms, crossing genres like nobody’s business. You’ll hear them on playlists, radios, and in sets by top dogs globally. Case in point? My “Spectrum (Say my name) – Florence and The Machine” remix hit 300 million views, backed by big shots in music, sports, TV, and fashion.
Future? It’s all about pushing boundaries, cooking up fresh beats, and staying ahead of the game. Watch out, world, ’cause I’m coming for the top spot in the music scene!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The path as a music artist and producer is very difficult because the music industry itself is an environment that grants few opportunities and gives little room to emerging artists. From an early age, I noticed that the main difficulty was in standing out and creating a unique sound that represented me and managed to get me recognized in the international scene.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The work as a music producer and artist is widely varied, including music production, sound engineering which is the creation of new sounds, and in-depth study of metrics, techniques, and sounds used in the world scene and in any genre to enrich the cultural background and attempt to unite one or more genre strands. Combining sounds from the African tradition with the evolution of my vision of Melodic Techno, allowed me to find my stand-up sound.
To date, the two tracks I am most satisfied with are the remix of Florence & The Machine – Spectrum which boasts 300M views and is supported by internationally renowned artists, as well as going viral on Instagram and tiktok and used in videos of top-level names from all kinds of categories such as festivals, clubs like Ushuaia or Hi, soccer teams, soccer organizations like champions league, FIFA world cup, or international companies, cities, influencers and so on.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
The thing is that in the music world when you get to good levels, you often hear “What a beautiful life you live!”. Generally, no one knows what’s behind it, except those who work there, of course. You do not have the perception of how much work there is, of what it means to live far from affection, not sleeping, and health problems related to both sleep and food (which is not always like what you are used to).
Although super rewarding this type of career requires enormous effort and a great deal of courage. The thing that people do not know is just this, how much it costs to do what is called “the good life”, how many birthdays skipped, how many holidays together with loved ones are not possible, and so on. You have to be strong inside and have the courage to face this kind of life.
