Meet Marcela Rojas Escobar of Mashala Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcela Rojas Escobar.

Hi Marcela, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Cali, Colombia, and came to the U.S. chasing big dreams and a purpose-driven life. Over the past 21 years, I’ve worked across real estate and the gold industry always drawn to spaces where strategy, connection, and meaning come together.

I’m the proud mom of two amazing children, Alejandro (17) and Mariana (13), who inspire me every day to lead by example and leave a beautiful legacy. I absolutely love helping people find their dream home or the right space to grow their business, for me it’s about building futures, not just closing deals.

Mashala, my fine jewelry and gold investment brand, was born from a desire to create something timeless and meaningful, celebrating heritage, elegance, and smart financial choices. Today, I balance leading Mashala, growing strategic partnerships in the gold sector through Gold Metal DMCC in Dubai, and continuing to serve my real estate clients in Florida.

I’m deeply proud of my Colombian roots and passionate about showing the world that Colombia is full of beauty, talent, and heart. Giving back to my community and uplifting others is part of my mission, always.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road, but one that’s made me stronger and more grounded in my purpose. When I first came to the U.S., I was young and full of dreams, but I quickly learned that stereotypes could be cruel. People would joke and call me ‘the Coke-land girl’ just because I was from Colombia. It was deeply hurtful, especially because I had never even seen or used drugs in my life or country.

But instead of letting it break me, I let it fuel me. I made it my mission to become an ambassador for the real Colombia — a country full of vibrant culture, talented people, and beautiful stories. That experience shaped my drive to succeed with integrity, to create brands with soul, and to leave a different kind of legacy, one that uplifts, educates, and inspires.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Mashala is more than a jewelry brand, it’s a celebration of meaning, legacy, and elegance. We specialize in 18k and 22k gold fine jewelry and offer investment-grade 24k gold bars for clients who value both beauty and financial empowerment.

What sets us apart is our commitment to timeless design with soul. Each piece is carefully crafted to reflect not just luxury, but intention, whether it’s a symbol of love, strength, heritage, or personal milestones. We also offer personalized pieces that carry deep emotional value, including custom bracelets, meaningful charms, and heirloom-quality jewels.

The name Mashala is inspired by the Arabic expression ‘Mashallah’, which means “may it be protected” or “what a blessing.” That spirit runs through everything we create. It’s about honoring what’s beautiful, in ourselves, our roots, and our stories.

I’m most proud that Mashala is helping people connect with their identity, invest in their future, and pass on something truly meaningful. Whether it’s a mother passing down a bracelet to her daughter, or a first-time investor purchasing a gold bar — we’re honored to be part of those moments.

Mashala is for you if you believe that real luxury is more than status — it’s substance, soul, and story

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to meaningful collaborations, whether it’s through Mashala, real estate, or the precious metals industry. People can work with me by exploring partnerships that align with purposeful branding, cultural storytelling, or ethical luxury.
You can support by following @mashala.world on Instagram, sharing our story, or choosing Mashala when you’re looking for a meaningful gift or an investment in gold with lasting value. I’m also proud to support Latina-owned businesses and community-driven initiatives, so I welcome anyone aligned with that mission to reach out.
