Meet Manny Keith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manny Keith.

Hi Manny, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started singing when I was 14 years old in church. I didn’t know I had the gift to sing, it was just something that I wanted to try as I always loved the performing arts. I was a super shy kid and the thought of singing in front of large crowds of people was terrifying. Yet, here I am, 18 years later, living out my dreams of being an artist and having sang in front of millions of people recently on NBC’s The Voice.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been an easy journey getting to where I am today. I honestly still have so far to go, but I’m so grateful for what’s taken place over my life because it’s made me who I am. One of the toughest chapters I’ve ever faced was losing my mother to cancer in 2017. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced. However, I can look back on that season and see that it was the turning point for me to really get serious about being an artist. My mother was my biggest cheerleader and always encouraged me to chase after what I felt in my heart to do. In her honor, I chose to finally take the leap and make my dream of being an artist a reality. Before then, I was honestly scared to take risks and put myself out there because I thought I wasn’t good enough or I would fail. I know that my mother would be so proud of how my journey has played out thus far.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a singer, songwriter, artist, entertainer, and visionary. My specialty is singing and performing, however, I love the entire scope of what it means to be an artist. Taking concepts to reality is so fun. Whether it be writing a song, creative directing a music video, or even creating an epic performance experience for an audience — I love it all! I’m most proud of being a part of season 21 of NBC’s The Voice where I competed on both Team Blake Shelton and Team Ariana Grande. Being mentored by these two incredible artists was a literal dream come true, and to say that I was on their teams for the rest of my life is so special. I would say what sets me apart from others is my energetic persona and stage presence! Speaking of my time on The Voice, I had a really cool moment with Ed Sheeran in a rehearsal where he complimented me on my stage presence and I couldn’t believe it! So humbled.

What was your favorite childhood memories?
One of my favorite childhood memories amongst many would have to be me standing in front of my tv mimicking Janet Jackson’s dance moves while watching her concerts.
