Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandeep Hunjan
Hi Mandeep, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
During a trip to Miami for Art Basel in December 2022, I attended a breakout session where an artist was interviewed about NFTs and AI. This sparked my interest in NFTs, and I decided to return to Miami for the NFT conference in March. I even considered moving to Miami to explore the intersection of tech and the arts further if the conference deepened my interest.
In March 2023, I attended the NFT Week in Miami conference. Unfortunately, I became overwhelmed with the technical aspects and decided to put my dream on hold. Meanwhile, my life in New Jersey was unraveling. I no longer wanted to work in the spa business I had co-founded with my mom. One day, as I was supposed to go to work, I froze—I could no longer convince myself that I was happy. My body was signaling that it was time to leave behind the successful 11-year family business, my life in New Jersey, and my family.
With my family’s blessing, I decided to give it six months and moved to North Miami. I attended numerous tech happy hours and subscribed to all the relevant newsletters. One day, I received an email about the Miami Venture program, a five-month initiative. By the following February, I was fully immersed in learning everything I could about creating my own startup. After successfully completing the program, I began my journey to develop a luxury membership app. However, I quickly realized that the luxury market was undergoing a significant transition, with AI, VR, and AR reshaping the worlds of luxury, art, fashion, and beauty.
I decided to pivot and create a space for people interested in the alignment of these fields and emerging technologies. Thus, Cre8tive Mojo was born!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t smooth at all. Navigating Miami as a New Yorker was extremely difficult. There were many times I found myself on the brink of giving up, nearly packing up and moving back home in tears. I had to leave a terrible roommate situation in the middle of the night, taking only my suitcase, and ended up living in a hostel in Buena Vista with others who were just starting out. I quickly learned to save my money for what really mattered—myself, tech career, networking, and friends.
I went from making good money and enjoying the prestige of being a successful business owner in a town I loved, to living a startup life in a hostel, like a college student. It made me question how I could be developing a luxury app when my own life was far from luxurious. I remember walking through the Design District, imagining my future customers and holding onto my dreams.
My roommates were also struggling, but somehow, we formed friendships and found humor in all the craziness.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to my longtime mentor, Evelyn, whose unwavering encouragement has always propelled me forward, no matter the obstacles in my path. My family has been a pillar of support, from watching over my pets while I settled in Miami to helping me find an apartment and offering assistance when needed. Their love and support mean the world to me.
