I am a 20-year-old entrepreneur. Hair is something that I’ve always had a passion forever since I was a little girl. Growing up, I knew that I wanted to become my own boss and do what I loved. I started MalliBeauHair the winter after I graduated from high school in 2018. I had a terrible experience with hair that I purchased from a hair company. Not only was the hair extremely expensive, but the hair was not good. The customer service that I received also left a bad taste in my mouth. From that day forward, I decided that I would join the hair business and offer quality hair for affordable prices. Hair is more than just what meets the eye, but a crown that you get to customize and style any way you please. Your hair makes you feel beautiful, creative, and much more confident in your own skin. I want the people that shop with me to feel beautiful when they wear my hair and satisfied enough to keep coming back.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course, starting your own business from scratch is never easy. In the beginning, I did not have much play money to work with, so I had to do a lot on my own. I did not have much help, but one thing that I would never trade for the world is my friends. My friends are a major support system for me and they‘ve helped push me a lot. Starting your own hair company has many trails and tribulations. For example, finding hair vendors and trying their hair costs money and time. In that same breath, being patient is a major key in entrepreneurship. My business has only been operating for one year, and although I haven’t seen much sales, I know that patience is a virtue.
I want to be raw and original and not sugarcoat anything because I know that my story could inspire someone somewhere to finally start the business that they’ve been planning for months now. I don’t want people to think that being an entrepreneur is easy, but it is worthwhile.

We want our customers to feel welcomed and invited every time they shop with us. We provide speedy customer service and listen to our customer’s reviews, comments, concerns, etc. We are proud of who we are and the values we stand on. Making sure that each and every customer feels like their needs were met is a top priority for us.

My mom, friends, and boyfriend have helped me tremendously in this journey. Even though I don’t come from the richest family, my mom has provided for me in more ways than one. My friends, Shaye and Khristina, have been there for me through thick and thin. These two are more like sisters to me. They’ve helped promote MalliBeauHair, whether if it was on their social media or by actually purchasing hair from me. My boyfriend has seen me at my lowest and has supported me during the times I thought about giving up. Dontereous has been so helpful with designing my logos, website, and any last-minute thing that I needed. God has also given me the strength to keep going and see the light at the end of the tunnel.
