Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Mayer.
Luis, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Caracas in 1996, and I think my story truly began long before I ever imagined dedicating my life to transformation, creativity, and the human voice. I grew up fascinated by why people become who they are—by the patterns, emotions, and invisible dynamics that shape our lives. That curiosity eventually became the foundation of everything I do today.
I moved to the United States as a young adult, and that transition marked a turning point. I discovered coaching almost by accident, but it immediately felt like home. Over the years, I immersed myself in multiple disciplines: ontological and systemic coaching, transgenerational work, addiction intervention, psychodrama, magic, quantum coaching, high-impact training, and family constellations. What began as curiosity evolved into more than 13 years of study and 5 years of applying and refining what would later become my own methodology: Coaching de Intervención Integrativo.
My work has always centered around one question: How do we interrupt the unconscious patterns that keep people away form their full potencial?
That question led me to develop interventions, creative disruptions, and experiential processes that help individuals confront their narratives, shift identity, and build a new internal world. Today, I mentor coaches, I train groups, and I guide people into the deepest parts of themselves with tools that integrate psychology, metaphysics, embodiment, and storytelling.
One of the most meaningful chapters of my career came from a very personal place: writing. As I wrote my own books—Mis Sombras, Yo se o yo soy—I realized how powerful writing becomes when it is guided, when someone holds space for your voice to unfold. That realization gave birth to El Club de Escritores, a community and an 18-month program where new authors write, edit, and publish their first book with mentorship, structure, and accountability. What started as a small experiment turned into a literary family, and today we’re preparing the first public Festival for our 13 authors.
My work now lives in three main pillars:
coaching, authorship, and teaching.
I mentor individuals and groups; I write books that blend psychology, spirituality, and introspection; and I guide others to find their voice—whether on the page, in their identity, or in their leadership.
Looking back, nothing about my path feels accidental. Every discipline I studied, every book I wrote, every session I facilitated became a piece of this larger vision: helping people remember who they truly are, and giving them the tools to create the life, the story, and the inner world they want to live in.
And honestly, I feel like I’m just getting started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. My road has been anything but smooth. I always say that my life and my work is built on the stones I once tripped over. For years, challenges weren’t just obstacles; they were teachers. In my books I often write that one of the greatest human wisdoms is to turn what happens to you into something, because things don’t happen to punish you…. they happen for you, so you can create with them.
From my early years as a young actor in Venezuela to building a life from scratch in another country, I’ve lived my share of internal storms. I’ve faced addiction, depression, anxiety, and the kind of identity crises that force you to dismantle everything you believed about yourself. There were moments where I felt completely lost, moments where I was rebuilding myself with whatever pieces I had left.
But those experiences became the foundation of the work I do today. They taught me compassion, presence, and emotional transparency. They taught me that healing is not linear, and that transformation requires confronting the darkest rooms inside yourself. They also taught me that the mind can be rewired, the story can be rewritten, and the past can become a resource instead of a prison.
And that’s why I do what I do now, whether it’s coaching someone through a major life transition or guiding an author as they write the book they never thought they could write. My struggles became my methodology, my voice, and my purpose. They didn’t make the journey easy, but they made it meaningful.
We’ve been impressed with YOU AS I CORP , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company is called YOU AS I CORP, and it’s been established in the state of Florida for over five years. The name comes from a simple but powerful vision: you and I are the same, and we’re in this together. That idea of shared humanity, shared responsibility, and shared evolution is the backbone of everything I create.
From this company, several of my main projects and brands are born:
• El Club de Escritores – an 18-month literary experience where new authors write, edit, and publish their book with guidance, structure and an intimate community.
• Luis Mayer Intervention Coaching – my private coaching practice, rooted in integrative intervention, identity work, emotional transformation, reprogramming of the subconscious and unconscious, and experiential techniques.
• CCII: Certificación en Coaching de Intervención Integrativo – a comprehensive, immersive program where I train coaches in the methodology I’ve developed over more than a decade of study and practice.
What sets us apart is that we don’t work at the surface level. Everything I create—whether it’s a coaching session, a class, an intervention, or a writing program—goes to the core of identity, meaning, emotional structure, and personal truth. I’m not interested in shortcuts or generic advice; I’m interested in transformation that actually lasts.
YOU AS I CORP is still a company in development, but part of my evolution has been learning to take it seriously—treating it not just as a personal project, but as a long-term vision with real infrastructure, real systems, and a clear mission. The more it grows, the more respect I have for it. And I have very clear goals for the next few years, even if I’m not ready to reveal all of them publicly just yet.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the consistency across everything I do: depth, humanity, quality, and emotional honesty. Whether someone comes to us to write a book, to heal, to train as a coach, or to work through a personal transition, they experience the same thing: a space where truth is welcomed, identity is explored, and change is taken seriously.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know it’s this:
We work with people who are ready. Ready to grow, ready to write, ready to face themselves, and ready to build a life they actually recognize as their own.
My company exists to accompany that process with depth, structure, creativity, and integrity.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is humanity… the depth of who we are beneath our roles, our defenses, and the noise of everyday life. Whether it’s a casual conversation in a café, the way we treat a cashier, a waiter or a doctor; or a deeply transformational coaching session, I’m always aware that behind every theory, statistic, or method, there is a human being who feels, cries, hopes, and laughs in the same universal language.
I’m not a fan of pre-recorded, generic, one-size-fits-all solutions. The world is filled with superficial content that looks good but doesn’t actually create change. What matters to me is the personalized work, the kind that takes hours, intention, presence, and real emotional transparency. Because that’s the work that truly transforms people.
At the end of the day, what drives me is the reminder that we’re all trying to navigate life with the tools we have. And if I can help someone find a bit more clarity, dignity, or direction (whether through coaching, writing, or simply treating them with genuine humanity) that’s what makes everything worthwhile.
