Meet Lola Colina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lola Colina.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m Cuban; I grow up between ballet classes and rhythm gymnastics. I was a graduate in the ENA school (national school of art in Cuba). I worked on one of the most popular and important cabarets in Cuba, worldwide know as Tropicana Cabaret. I also worked on Hotel National’ s Cabaret Parisien as a principal dancer. At the age of 19, I moved to Miami, and I worked in a contemporary dance company named Free Soul Dance with Belma Suazo. I have been working in different clubs as Mangos, Live, Story, Wall and many more. My job on these clubs introduced me more in the hip hop dance style. Now Im working for Zhantra Entertainment as the principal dancer in Rockwell MIAMI. This is only a little bit of my career; I could be telling you about my works for a whole day.

Please tell us about your art.
I’m a soul artist. Even though my passion is dance, I also enjoy painting as expression and modeling. Dancing for me is give freedom to my soul, is recharging my mind, I’m just me when I’m dancing, and I feel my self when I’m in a show. I wish that everybody could feel that way at some point in their lives.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
I wish I’ve learned earlier to take care more of my body. My advice for other artist is “Do what you love and do it with passion so; you will never see it as a job.”

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Now they can come to Rockwell MIAMI or find me in Instagram @lolacolina and there you’re going to find my work as a dancer and model. I really appreciate when my followers like and share my photos and they send me a good message as that I have a beautiful makeup or costume, Even some of them asked me to do a video tutorial doing it.
