Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Murray.
Leah, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My name is Leah Murray and I am an upcoming entrepreneur. I have always been greatly inspired by both my parents because they both have their own businesses. I currently am in college for nursing which I plan to continue as well as pursue my nail business. Growing up, I have always been surrounded by family who truly supported my dreams and never put a limit on what I wanted to do and accomplish. Recently, in December of 2019, I lost my father, which took a very big impact on me emotionally. Although it is hard to come to the realization that he is no longer here on earth with me everyday, I make sure I give 200% of what I have because I have to live through my family and my father’s legacy.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have faced many challenges while I am on my journey to success. I have faced depression from losing my father, stress from trying to maintain a good GPA while I put all I have into nails and work and just dealing with life overall. Despite the challenges I face, I always try to maintain a good attitude because I am grateful for everyday. A lot of things are out of my control, so I just try to live life the best way I can.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lavish Lee Nails story. Tell us more about the business.
The business I currently have is “Lavish Lee Nails” (@Lavishleenails on Instagram). I have been doing nails for about six months now and everyday, I strive hard to be better than the day before. I am proud that I can add a business to the other business that my family has and that I also started out as self-taught. The goal that I try to set me apart from others, besides my work, is my positive energy and to always try to go out the box.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t really believe in good or bad luck just blessings. I know that life is not easy and the price to be great is to always go hard and never give up. I know that I am blessed and God has destined me for greatness, so I always just live the way God intended me to.
