Meet LaVie Music

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaVie Music. Them and their team share their story with us below:

LaVie was born on June 13, 1983, in Miami, Florida, Charline. She was raised by her Haitian immigrant parents along with her brother and two sisters. LaVie discovered her love for music at a young age, to which she recalls, “My sister Sandrine and I use to watch Whitney Houston videos on VHS and sing into my mother’s hair brushes”. Now she herself is a proud parent of a teenage daughter and identical twin boys, who also have a great love for music.

At the beginning of her career, LaVie collaborated with up and coming Producer/Musician, Stephane Murphy, and began working on original music. In 2009, LaVie, released her first album titled “Life Music”, filled with Inspirational/Soul music.

The release party was filled with friends, family and supporters from the Dade, Broward and Palm Beach areas. Since the release of her debut album, she has continued creating music, releasing her single “Alive”, which has become an instant fan favorite, touching the hearts of every listener since 2014 and even now.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road as you can guess. Life is constantly throwing curveballs. My interaction with my parents was interesting, we didn’t show much affection or love and this became a way of life. Struggling with depression in my late teens was a pivotal time in my life. Suicide is something I dealt with as a result of the depression and I believe this is where the name LaVie came to life, literally.

I got married at 18 and had my daughter at 19 so before I knew it I was responsible for another human being and a wife. This added pressures of its own and by the time I was in my early twenties I was divorced (the first time). Like most of us I didn’t take the time to heal from that relationship and I moved on to my second husband who I later created two talented humans as well as beautiful music with… I am still on my journey of creating, healing, loving, learning and aligning. Trusting God and music every step of the way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a singer, songwriter and event host. I would say that I specialize in making people feel connected. My hope is that every time someone experiences my gift that they will have just that…an experience. I am most proud of my ability to connect to my audience in a way that is authentic and real.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Miami because of the weather and the beach. I have literally lived here my whole life and I love it.
