Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Leree.
Hi Laura, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Little Hands Bilingual Education started with a dream five years ago. Like many small business owners, I faced challenges from the very beginning. The hardest part was finding a home where I could open a licensed childcare. I knocked on many doors, invested my time, energy, and savings, and there were moments when I felt like giving up. Thankfully, my husband and my family always encouraged me to keep believing in my dream.
After three wonderful years serving families, I was blessed to save enough to purchase a home and open our second Little Hands location. Today, my mom and an amazing team of teachers help lead the program, allowing us to offer a bilingual learning environment.
At Little Hands, we believe childcare is about so much more than caring for children. Our goal is to help every child grow with confidence by developing the academic, social, and emotional skills they need for a successful transition to kindergarten.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every challenge because each one helped shape the journey. What began as a simple dream has become a place where children learn, families feel supported, and every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Starting Little Hands came with many challenges, especially finding a home where I could open a licensed childcare. I knocked on many doors before finding the right place, and there were moments when I questioned if I would be able to make my dream a reality.
I invested a lot of time, effort, and resources into building this program, and there were times when I felt overwhelmed and close to giving up. However, my husband, my family, and the love I have for early childhood education motivated me to keep moving forward.
Every challenge taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of believing in my vision. Looking back, I’m grateful for those difficult moments because they helped me grow and made Little Hands what it is today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Little Hands is a bilingual early childhood education program created with the belief that the first years of a child’s life are the foundation for their future. We provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and grow with confidence.
What makes Little Hands different is that we are more than childcare. We offer an intentional academic program inspired by hands-on learning, where we focus on developing each child’s social, emotional, language, and academic skills. In our classroom we offer music , yoga and art classes every week . Our goal is to prepare children not only for kindergarten but also to become independent, curious, and confident learners.
We are known for creating a strong connection with families and for providing personalized attention to every child. We believe every child has their own unique way of learning, and our teachers guide them with patience, respect, and encouragement.
How do you define success?
I define success by the impact we have on the lives of the children and families we serve. For me, success is not only about growth or numbers; it is about creating a place where children feel safe, loved, confident, and excited to learn.
Seeing a child overcome a challenge, become more independent, develop new skills, or walk into kindergarten prepared and confident is one of the greatest rewards.
I also define success by the relationships we build with families and the positive environment we create for our teachers. Little Hands started as a dream, and today, seeing it grow into a community where children, families, and educators feel supported is what makes me proud.
