Today we’d like to introduce you to L David Stewart.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Always a creative. Designer for 20 years, photographer for 20 years. Currently, an educator completing a Doctoral degree in business. Creative has been my balance in a world of numbers and deadlines. Born in Chicago, now a resident of Miami, looking to make a positive impact as an artist.
Please tell us about your art.
I am a photojournalist/fine art photographer. I came to those arenas given my passion for observation and capturing moments in time. My inspirations include Gordon Parks, Pete Souza, and Peter Lik. I hope folks take away emotion form my shots and the feelings of the moment. As far as my artwork is about seeing what others didn’t or can’t see.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
1. Be honest with yourself.
2 Don’t let education hinder you.
3. Progression over perfection.
I wish that I didn’t listen to negative thoughts as much earlier.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Currently looking to work with galleries in Miami, Toronto or Chicago but open to other cities as well.
