Today we’d like to introduce you to Kym Klein.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kym. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my journey with my “core” values of wellness and fitness and being of service to others. I started practicing yoga when my children were young. It gave me a sense of connection through movement that only self-expression can give. Yoga to me is creative movement, very much like a form of dance that uses rhythmic, patterned, or improvised body movement, and it’s one of the oldest art forms found in every culture around the world. Vinyasa yoga is often accompanied by music, but it’s also a form of nonverbal communication and self-expression because when people feel free to move their bodies without judgment, you often get a glimpse of their innermost thoughts and feelings. Shortly after I fell in love with the practice I became certified to teach and began teaching all over South Florida including Equinox in Aventura, Evolution in Coconut Creek, Ellen’s Ultimate Fitness in Davie, Yoga Joint in Fort Lauderdale.
My fitness background and my passion for yoga became one, the perfect matrimony. That’s when I developed the Kym Klein Method/K2. It started out as a scribble on notebook paper and after years of study. application, and evolution it has become what it is today.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’m not sure any grand idea is ever laid out with a smooth road to ride on. It most definitely has not been a smooth road. It’s taken quite a bit of dedication to my core values as a teacher and more simply, as a human being. I’ve had push back from business owners to carry the method, once the design was applied, the success was exponential. As with any grand idea, it’s copied over and over and over again without proper and ethical credit. It’s a very disheartening part of the process of being a trailblazer, but also the biggest compliment. I’ve spent much of the last few years learning that both these emotions can coexist without being a setback.
What do you do? What do you specialize in?
I am the founder of the Kym Klein Method, a unique approach centered around the invigorating power that fitness offers the mind, body, and spirit. I teach yoga. I teach Pilates. I teach my signature class K2Core, which is a combination of yoga, Pilates, and HIIT. I inspire others to step out of their comfort zone, move past their own self imposed limitations and claim the life they were meant to live, to become the best versions of themselves that they can possibly be.
What sets me apart is my commitment to service. I have a mission to provide a channel for clients that leaves them feeling stronger, more flexible, balanced, and uplifted and to ultimately find freedom and resonance in their bodies and lives. Staying committed to that service does not come easy in a world that is constantly giving you push back, but if I change the life of just one individual if I inspire just one person to get out of bed and push through the daily struggles of life, then it is enough for me to stay the path. I am most proud of knowing the importance of what that entails and without any excuses, still walking the walk. I lead by example.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My ability to persevere. Perseverance is not giving up. It is persistence and tenacity, the effort required to do something and keep doing it till the end, even if it’s hard. I’ve always had this ability to push through, no matter what circumstances come my way. Everyone has roadblocks, detours, failures, setbacks, but your ability to push through that adversity is what will set you apart. This level of perseverance continues to support my success as a business owner and it will always be there as I know the setbacks will not stop, it’s an inevitable part of life no matter what direction you’re going.
