Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Tomasello.
Hi Kristin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey has been shaped by both challenges and purpose. After facing significant health struggles in my own life and watching my family battle serious illnesses, I developed a deep appreciation for resilience, faith, creativity, and serving others. Those experiences inspired me to become a nurse, entrepreneur, author, and nonprofit founder.
Art has always been a huge part of my life. I believe creativity has the power to heal, inspire, and bring people together. That belief became one of the driving forces behind founding the Kristin Tomasello Foundation. Through initiatives like Night to Remember Prom and our vision for a children’s arts center, we are working to create opportunities for individuals with special needs to express themselves through art, creativity, and community.
I also founded CostaSea Suncare, a family-inspired sunscreen brand created from my family’s experiences with cancer and a desire to help protect others while giving back. Today, I combine business, philanthropy, faith, and the arts to make a positive impact. Everything I do is centered around creating opportunities, spreading hope, and helping people realize their value and potential.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Along the way, I faced serious health challenges that tested my strength, faith, and determination. There were seasons when I had to focus on healing while still pursuing my dreams and finding purpose through difficult circumstances.
Building a nonprofit and launching businesses has also come with challenges. Fundraising, creating awareness, finding the right partners, and balancing multiple responsibilities often require persistence and patience. There have been setbacks, delays, and moments when things did not go as planned.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that challenges can become opportunities. My experiences inspired me to create the Kristin Tomasello Foundation, where we use art, creativity, and community to empower individuals with special needs. Those struggles also inspired CostaSea Suncare and many of the projects I work on today.
While the road has not always been easy, every obstacle has strengthened my commitment to serving others, growing in faith, and creating opportunities that make a lasting impact.

I am an entrepreneur, nonprofit founder, author, artist, and advocate who is passionate about creating opportunities for others. My work brings together business, philanthropy, faith, art, music, and community impact.

Through books, speaking, and outreach, I share messages of resilience, faith, gratitude, and purpose.
What I’m most proud of
I am most proud of creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and empowered. Through the foundation’s events and future arts and music initiatives, we are building opportunities for individuals of all abilities to express themselves creatively, develop confidence, and connect with others.
What sets me apart
What sets me apart is the way I combine entrepreneurship with mission-driven impact. Every project I work on—whether in business, nonprofit work, art, music, or writing—is rooted in a desire to serve others and create lasting change. I believe that creativity, including both art and music, has the power to heal, inspire, and bring communities together, and I strive to make that belief a reality through everything I do.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is faith, family, and creating opportunities for others. My faith has guided me through some of the most difficult moments in my life and continues to be the foundation for how I live, serve, and lead. It reminds me to approach every opportunity with gratitude, compassion, and purpose.
My family is also incredibly important to me. Watching loved ones overcome serious health challenges taught me the value of resilience, hope, and supporting one another through every season of life.
I am especially passionate about creating opportunities for individuals with special needs through art, music, and creative expression. Seeing people discover their talents, build confidence, and feel included is deeply meaningful to me. I believe everyone deserves to feel valued, celebrated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
At the end of the day, what matters most is making a positive impact and leaving the world better than I found it—using my gifts, experiences, and platform to serve others and inspire hope.
